Today we’d like to introduce you to Levi Cox.
Hi Levi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started when I was approximately 3 years old. I was at a swap meet with my parents, my mom sold antiques and my dad sold car parts from his salvage business. I collected hotwheels and sometimes I’d sell some to get new ones. I would usually sell them for $1 and one day she explained to me that I should offer my friends .25 to .50 cents for their unwanted hotwheels that way I could make some money on them selling them for $1 like I had been doing. With that lesson my resell journey was Kickstarted, basically all my life from that point on was buying and reselling to be able to afford new toys and to pay bills as a side business.
I got into collecting video games when I was in middle school and that has been my favorite category of items to do business with.
I turned my side business into a full time career 4 years ago after losing my job. I have worked for my parents in their business, small 2 person companies and big corporations such as Ford. Nothing seem to hold my interest like video games and Collectibles so I decided to take a shot, open a store and see where it would go.
Ive been extremely lucky to see so many rare items and amazing people come through our doors.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, there’s lots of small challenges with owning a small business. In general I think small business owners work way more hours than the expect they will when they first open. You have to try your business like it’s your child and we all know children require alot of time and patience.
We’ve managed to weather every storm and prosper thanks to the support of my friends, family, staff and most importantly our customers.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about A1 TRADING ?
We are a video game and Collectibles company specializing in retro gaming equipment. We are know for being a fair place to bring your items to buy/sell/trade, it’s important to us that we treat people better then most of the corporate gamestores and our other competitors. I think the fact that we pay alot for items and sell and market value is what makes us stand out to our customers.
I’m proud that every day I’ve got a community who supports me and we always find was to engage with them. We have a free event planned for every month this year that will be fun for all ages. We like to have things parents can do with their kids and share the memories they have with them. There’s something poetic about old of games making new memories.

I’d like to just say thanks to everyone’s helped me along the way, there’s been alot of times where I have felt like quitting and they’ve always been there to change my mind. The Kind words have gone a long way.
