Check Out Nicole Rash’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Rash.

Hi Nicole, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was raised in Excelsior Springs, a community that has always felt like home. The Elms Hotel and Spa has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I began my career there at a young age, working my way through different roles and learning the spa experience from the ground up from an amazing Director.

I’m now 29, a proud mom of two beautiful children, and the Spa Manager at The Elms. I approach both life and leadership with positivity, compassion, and heart. I truly love what I do, love big, and feel grateful to grow in a place that means so much to me both personally and professionally.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey into management hasn’t always been a straight or easy path It’s been a road filled with both smooth moments and meaningful challenges. Along the way, I’ve learned how important it is to use my voice, lead with confidence, and pay attention to the small details that truly make a difference. I genuinely love what I do and the people I work alongside. Creating thoughtful guest interactions and knowing someone is having a fabulous spa day is what continues to drive and inspire me every day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Part of me feels like I grew up alongside The Elms. As a child, I ran around the property with my sister, made pastries with the chefs, and played in the lap pool while my mom worked. She dedicated over 20 years to The Elms, and because of that, I’ve always had a deep love for the property and the people who bring it to life. Over the years, I’ve met so many incredible people, formed lasting connections, and felt lucky to witness The Elms evolve through so many wonderful changes.

I officially began my journey at The Elms Hotel and Spa at 18 as a hostess and server in the restaurant. After about two years, I transitioned into the spa as a spa receptionist, where I instantly fell in love with the environment and knew this was where I wanted to grow. From there, I worked my way up from group coordinator to supervisor, and now proudly serve as Spa Manager.

I’ve now been part of The Elms for 11 years, and I truly wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing and evolving the spa, finding new ways to enhance the guest experience and support my team. I’m passionate about building something meaningful and lasting at The Elms. At the same time, I’m most looking forward to watching my children grow and embracing each stage of life alongside them. Balancing my career with motherhood is something I truly cherish, and both continue to inspire me every day.
