Conversations with Heather Bourdon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Bourdon.

Heather, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My chiropractic practice grew naturally out of a lifelong connection to athletics and the functional fitness community, particularly CrossFit. From the beginning, I’ve chosen to keep my practice intentionally small, allowing me to provide highly individualized care while working closely with a dedicated chiropractic assistant. With advanced training in sports chiropractic and rehabilitation, I work with a wide range of patients — from children just beginning their athletic journeys to professional and elite-level athletes. My clinical focus is on functional fitness, movement assessment, and restoring efficient, resilient movement patterns that support both performance and long-term health.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Just as any small business owner could agree, there are always bumps along the road. I have been in practice for 13+ years so of course, any business that’s been practicing that long, we have encountered all kinds of bumps. The most significant is likely during Covid. Originally it was a very scary time, however, not long after the world shut down, people needed chiropractic care more than ever before. I have learned that just as many things in life, the bumps correct themselves and the basics of the universal rules stands true; staying true to myself, my work ethic and taking care of people the way I would want to be treated has allowed for great success!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Chiropractor. I specialize in sports rehab and movement assessment. I am known in the athletic spaces across all sports, but especially in the CrossFit community.

Patients who want to learn more about my work are often drawn to the way I approach pain, movement, and performance as an integrated system. My specialization in sports rehabilitation, functional assessment, and movement-based pain allows me to identify why pain is present — not just where it shows up. With advanced training in biomechanics, kinesiology, and movement pattern analysis, I focus on restoring appropriate function rather than chasing symptoms. While my formal chiropractic education mirrors that of many practitioners, my background as an athlete and my highly observant, detail-oriented nature have shaped how I see the body in motion. I’m most proud not only of the practice I’ve built, but of the trust I’ve earned with my patients over time. What truly sets my work apart is the combination of lived athletic experience, clinical knowledge, and the ability to see movement problems clearly — and then correct them in a way that supports long-term resilience and performance.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is living and working in a way that feels honest and aligned. I feel most fulfilled when my choices — both professionally and personally — reflect who I truly am and what I value. When my work, my energy, and my intentions are in sync, I’m able to be fully present, focused, and engaged. That sense of flow — where things feel purposeful, clear, and balanced — is where I do my best work and experience the most satisfaction in life. I also really love the beach, snowboarding, family, my cats, and connecting with special people in my life over a nice long meal.
