Hi Olavio, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up with two Brazilian immigrant parents who were business owners, I knew from a young age that I wanted to have something of my own. My goal has always been to offer a service at the lowest price possible to help those who need it. After serving eight years in the U.S. Air Force, I matured and gained the life experience needed to make the leap back into civilian life.
I currently work full time at Garmin and started my company, Terrain Tow Company, to give people a fair and affordable option to transport what they need. Since opening in June of 2025, I’ve had four bookings that were canceled, but I didn’t let that discourage me. I know what I have to offer, and I’m confident that my pricing and service will attract more clients. Resilience is something I learned—brutally—through my military experience.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Since the start, it has not been easy. I have absolutely doubted myself, lowered prices, offered additional resources with rentals, and still struggled to gain traction. I’ve told myself it’s just the time of year—people don’t often need trailers in the fall or winter. Adapting to feedback and overcoming self-doubt has been an ongoing process, and the list goes on.
I plan to grow as my customer base grows. I want to add more trailers to my fleet while continuing to offer low prices. Keeping overhead costs as minimal as possible allows me to do that. Even as I grow, I will continue to offer the lowest prices I can.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five to ten years, I see more individuals entering the market and offering their own trailers for rent. As that happens, competition will increase, but so will customer expectations. By that point, I believe Terrain Tow Co. will have a refined, well-tested process and a strong reputation built on reliability, transparency, and trust.
While others may enter the space, our focus on consistency, fair pricing, and customer experience will set us apart. A proven system and a trusted local brand will be difficult to replicate, and that’s where I see long-term value and sustainability in this industry.
