Sarah Reimund & Taylor Wittig shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Sarah & Taylor, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day starts off by dropping our children off at school. Followed by a good iced coffee, running any errands and then heading to the spa!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are Taylor and Sarah of There (S)he Glows Beauty Bar! We are a women owned day spa in North Kansas City. Specializing in corrective skin care. We have a combined 20 years of experience. We work hard to help our clients achieve their best skin!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Taylor: A big influence for me was my father. An entrepreneur himself he taught me the value of hard work and being in business for yourself. I grew up watching him work hard for his family which inspired me to do the same.
Sarah: I was born to young parents that faced many challenges. My father was a very hard worker, made sacrifices and always provided for his family. My mother motivated me to chase my dreams and to never let anyone hold me back. My parents inspired me to work hard and never give up.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
Sarah: In the last few years I have changed my perspective on social priorities as well as setting boundaries. I value family time, making intentional choices to be present with family. Redefining success by my happiness.
Taylor: For me becoming a new mom changed my perspective on work-life balance. While I love what I do, I’ve learned it’s important to make time for family and friends. While also being able to show up at work and be the best version of myself.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Trends come and go on a daily basis. Skin care fads found online often fade as fast as they appear. If something seems too good to be true. It is most likely a fad. If it’s a trend it will last longer, potentially even years.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
6. Sarah: The story I hope people tell about me is that I worked hard to achieve my goals. I am determined and honest. My goal has always been to help others feel confident and beautiful in their skin.
Taylor: I hope I’m remembered as someone who is hard working and loves their job. Someone who brightened their day and helped people feel good inside and out.
