Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Coffman.
Hi Mia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Mia, I have three children, all 3 years and under. My husband is Logan, and we own Legendary Laundry in Gardner. I grew up in North Pole, Alaska, and our family is military, both of which shaped how we approach business. We show up, doing things the right way, and taking care of people.
We didn’t originally set out to own a laundromat, but when the opportunity came up, we saw a chance to create something better than the typical experience people expect. Clean machines, clear pricing, and a space families could actually feel comfortable using. Taking over the business came with a steep learning curve, but being hands on from day one allowed us to make improvements quickly.
Today, Legendary Laundry offers both self service and wash and fold, with a strong focus on serving working families and the local community. We take pride in running a dependable operation and continuing to grow in a way that stays true to our values.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge was making the leap from the corporate world into entrepreneurship. I previously worked for Veterans United, and I really loved my job. I loved what I did and I loved the people I worked with. It felt meaningful for me to give back to Veterans as I have been surrounded by military my whole life.
At the same time, I found myself craving something more personal. I wanted face to face interaction instead of phone calls, and I wanted to build something that felt truly mine rather than being part of a larger corporate system. Making that jump meant giving up a level of predictability and learning a lot very quickly, often by doing.
What made that transition easier was the community. From day one, we’ve met so many great people through the laundromat. Customers, neighboring businesses, and families who genuinely care about seeing local businesses succeed. Those relationships have been incredibly encouraging and have reinforced that we made the right decision.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Legendary Laundry – Gardner Laundromat?
Legendary Laundry is a family owned laundromat focused on providing a clean, reliable, and welcoming experience for everyday people. We offer both self service laundry open 24/7 and wash-and-fold. We want to take the stress out of something most people already don’t enjoy doing.
What sets us apart is how hands on we are. We’re involved daily, we listen to feedback, and we make changes quickly when something isn’t working. Being a military and family oriented business has shaped our approach. We value details!
Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is the trust we’ve built. Customers know that when they come in, the space will be clean, the machines will work, and their laundry will be handled with care. We’ve also loved becoming part of people’s routines and getting to know so many families in the community along the way.
At the end of the day, Legendary Laundry isn’t about reinventing laundry, it’s about doing the basics exceptionally well and creating a place people feel comfortable coming back to.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband and I have met and learned so much from so many people. Its hard to nail down a single person. I do know, we have the most incredible senior attendant, Nina. Customers come to our facility seeking the “Nina Experience.” She takes a lot of pride in the work she does and she does a wonderful job.
