Patricia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As the daughter of a dedicated military professional, Growing up surrounded by the values of discipline, hard work, and service. My father’s commitment to his country and community has been a profound influence in my life. With a childhood marked by frequent moves, I’ve had the opportunity to adapt to new environments and cultures, from various states in the US to international locations.

With an unwavering dedication to the art of holistic healing, Embarked on a journey that would forever change the lives of those who had healing through touch. Graduating from Shawnee Mission West High School in 2005, pursuing a passion for therapeutic massage, earning Therapeutic Massage AOS Associate of Occupational Studies Degree with 1200 hours from Heritage College for Massage Therapy in 2007.

Focused on comprehensive education encompassed a broad spectrum of modalities, including:

• Deep tissue massage, to ease the burdens of physical strain
• Neuromuscular therapy, to restore balance and harmony
• Clinical assessment, to inform and guide her practice
• Musculoskeletal systems, to understand the intricate web of human movement
• Nutrition and wellness, to nurture body and soul

• Medical massage, to provide targeted relief
• Business management, to ensure the highest standards of care
• Introductory psychology, to appreciate the complexities of the human experience

Throughout my career, remained steadfast in a commitment to delivering exceptional care, fostering a safe and supportive environment that empowers clients to achieve optimal health and vitality. Recent pursuit of coursework in Oncology and Lymphatic Drainage underscores dedication to staying at the forefront of her field.

Working with clients, witnessing the profound impact of craft and skills. With each session, the weight of stress and discomfort lift, replaced by renewed vitality and a sense of well-being. Working is a testament to the transformative power of healing, and remains humbled and inspired by the privilege of serving others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, there has always been obstacles, bumps in the road and many blessings. This has never stopped the goal, only elevated or slowed the process for the right time in life.

As a dedicated parent and partner, I’ve navigated life’s challenges with resilience and determination. Married at a young age, I welcomed three children into our family, including an eldest son born with a cleft palate who has undergone numerous surgeries. Throughout our journey, I prioritized creating a stable and nurturing environment for all my children, ensuring they had opportunities to thrive. As a stay-at-home mom in my kid’s younger years, we focused on fostering their emotional and educational growth. After facing personal loss with the passing of my husband in 2024, I’ve continued to pursue a career path that aligns with my passion for helping others. With experience as a teacher, manager, and massage therapist since, I’ve developed a strong foundation in healthcare and education. My diverse background has equipped me with a unique perspective and skillset.

We’ve been impressed with Beauty Of Life Desires, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Beauty of Life Desires, we offer a range of massage therapies designed to help you relax, rejuvenate, and relieve stress. Our services include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and sports massage. We also incorporate hot stone therapies using basalt stones, jade stones, and marble, as well as cold stone facials. To enhance your experience, we offer wood therapy, sometimes referred to as bamboo therapy, and aromatherapy using Jara products with scents like lemon, peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender. Additionally, we pamper your hands and feet with Jara’s salt and sugar scrubs, followed by a nourishing moisturizer rich in vitamin E, shea moisture, and coconut. Our goal is to provide a peaceful and relaxing environment where you can unwind and let your worries fade away. We keep our pricing simple and straightforward, with most of our services included in our standard session. This way, you can focus on what matters most – taking care of yourself.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
For me, it’s all about compassion and genuine care for the people I’m serving. As a massage therapist, I’ve learned that it’s not just about the techniques or modalities, but about creating a safe and nurturing space for clients to relax and heal. Being present and attentive to their needs is key.

  • Deep Tissue Massage*: $140 – $170 for a session 60 min to 90 min
  • Sports Massage*: $105 – $135 for a session 60 min to 90 min
  • Neuromuscular Massage*: $125 – $150 for a session 60 min to 90 min
  • Myofascial Massage*: $125 – $150 for a session 60 min. to 90 min.
