Today we’d like to introduce you to Hao Quach.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey with NAAAP Kansas City began with a simple desire to find community.
Like many Asian American professionals, I was looking for a space where I could connect with others who understood the cultural nuances, family dynamics, and identity experiences that shape who we are. When I first discovered NAAAP-KC, what stood out immediately was the sense of belonging. It was not just about networking. It was about building relationships, supporting one another, and creating spaces where Asian American voices and experiences were centered.
I initially joined as a member and volunteer, helping wherever I could. Over time, I became more involved with the board and leadership, gaining a deeper understanding of the work it takes to build and sustain a community organization. Being behind the scenes showed me how much intention, care, and heart goes into every event, partnership, and initiative. It also gave me a deep appreciation for the leaders who came before me and the foundation they built.
In 2025, I stepped into the role of President of NAAAP Kansas City. This was a deeply meaningful moment for me, not as a singular achievement, but as an opportunity to continue the work of those before me and help move the chapter forward. My focus has been on building on our existing strengths, re engaging members, expanding partnerships, and creating more inclusive, accessible, and culturally resonant programming. Everything we do is rooted in collaboration and shared leadership.
Together with our board, advisors, volunteers, and community partners, we have continued to grow our programming, strengthen partnerships, and create more opportunities for connection, leadership development, and visibility. We have built on the momentum of previous years while also exploring new ideas and approaches to better serve our community.
What started as me searching for community has turned into a commitment to helping build it with others. I am incredibly grateful for the leaders who laid the groundwork, the team I get to serve alongside, and the members who continue to show up. I am proud of what we are building together and excited about where we are headed.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been easy. Building and sustaining community takes time, trust, and consistency, and there have been moments when energy was low and progress felt slow. Staying aligned with our mission to uplift, connect, and advocate for Asian American professionals has required intention and perseverance.
What kept us grounded was a shared belief in why this work matters. Every challenge reinforced our commitment to creating spaces where our community feels seen, supported, and empowered.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I focus on building community and creating spaces where Asian American professionals feel comfortable showing up as themselves. Through my work with NAAAP Kansas City, I am known for bringing people together, building partnerships, and creating programming that feels intentional, culturally relevant, and welcoming.
I am most proud of helping re energize the chapter alongside an amazing board, advisors, and volunteers, and seeing members get involved and step into leadership. What sets me apart is that I lead with both heart and strategy. I care deeply about the experience people have in our spaces, and I am always thinking about how to make things more inclusive, meaningful, and community driven.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is helping build a community where Asian American professionals feel supported, connected, and represented. I really care about creating spaces where people feel like they belong and do not have to shrink or explain parts of themselves to fit in.
NAAAP-KC’s mission to uplift, connect, and advocate for our community is what drives me. I believe when people feel seen and supported, they show up more confidently, support each other more, and create stronger communities together. That is why this work means so much to me.
