Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
TopView Auto Detail officially started in Wichita, Kansas, in early 2020. What originally started as a hobby turned into a source of income once friends and family began asking me to detail their vehicles after seeing how clean I kept my own vehicles. In 2023, I had the opportunity to bring TopView Auto Detail to the Liberty, Missouri, area. With each year of operation, I have expanded my service offerings, which has allowed the business to evolve into something I am very proud of. Currently, ceramic coatings are one of the most popular services we offer, whereas in 2020, full-vehicle detailing was the most popular service I provided. I am grateful for the continued business growth, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for TopView Auto Detail! Passion is what sets us apart from the competition.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most businesses, the uncertainty and cultural shift during the pandemic definitely impacted TopView Auto Detail. It was challenging to find a safe way to detail vehicles during this time, and vehicles simply were not being driven as much, which led to a minimal need for vehicle detailing. I used this time to polish my detailing techniques and learn new skills. The dip in business volume enabled me to attend formal training sessions and begin offering services such as ceramic coatings and paint protection film.

Absolutely — I use a variety of resources to stay organized, motivated, and sharpen my skills both in business and in life. For productivity and scheduling, I utilize Google Calendar along with Acuity Scheduling through Squarespace. These apps allow me to follow up with customers and ensure that my scheduling details are accurate.
To build my skills and stay current with industry techniques, I follow detailing blogs and YouTube channels that provide deep dives into products, processes, and best practices. Pan The Organizer, The Detail Geek, and AMMO NYC are a few YouTube channels that I routinely reference for technique improvement and inspiration.
