Meet Andrew Lentell of MVP Physical Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Lentell.

Hi Andrew, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I founded MVP Physical Therapy in 2021 after graduating from the University of Kansas Medical School DPT program and seeing too many patients frustrated by rushed appointments and impersonal care in traditional physical therapy settings. As a physical therapist, I wanted to build something different—a clinic rooted in one-on-one care, meaningful relationships, treatment plans that are truly individualized to each person’s goals and lifestyle, and expanded care outside of traditional rehab.

What started as a single room practice has grown into a community-focused performance and rehabilitation space serving active adults and athletes throughout the Lenexa and Johnson County area. Today, MVP offers outpatient physical therapy, personal training, and MVP Golf Performance, which combines rehabilitation, strength training, and advanced golf swing analysis to help golfers stay healthy and perform at a higher level. Our growth has always been driven by the same mission: delivering high-quality, personalized care and helping people stay active doing what they love.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. MVP Physical Therapy started very small, subleasing space out of a CrossFit gym, which helped us get started but came with limitations. When that gym unexpectedly closed, we had just a couple weeks to relocate while continuing to care for our patients, which was a major early challenge. We moved into a personal training facility, but the long-term goal was always to build a space of our own that truly reflected our values and approach to care.

Building the practice from the ground up—establishing patient relationships, referral sources, and community trust—was another significant challenge. At the same time, I was balancing full-time clinical care with the realities of running and growing a small business. Like many entrepreneurs, there were long days and plenty of learning moments, but those experiences ultimately strengthened MVP. Each challenge helped shape a more resilient, community-focused clinic that remains committed to personalized care and long-term results.

As you know, we’re big fans of MVP Physical Therapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
MVP Physical Therapy is a locally owned, community-focused clinic built around personalized care and long-term sustained results. We provide outpatient physical therapy, personal training, and specialized performance services designed to help people move better, stay active, and return to the activities they enjoy with confidence. Our approach is intentionally different from high-volume clinics—we focus on one-on-one treatment, individualized plans, and taking the time to truly understand each person’s goals.

We specialize in working with active adults, weekend warriors, and athletes, with a particular emphasis on orthopedic injuries, movement mechanics, and injury prevention. One area that makes us especially unique is MVP Golf Performance, where we combine physical therapy, strength training, and advanced golf swing analysis to help golfers improve performance while reducing pain and injury risk. This integrated model allows us to address not just symptoms, but the root causes of movement issues.

What truly sets MVP apart is our commitment to relationships and quality. We don’t believe in quick fixes—we partner with our clients for the long term and educate them so they can stay healthy beyond the clinic walls. Brand-wise, I’m most proud that MVP has grown through trust, word-of-mouth, and genuine community connection. We want readers to know that MVP isn’t just a place to recover from an injury—it’s a place to build resilience, confidence, and lifelong movement health.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, our focus is on thoughtful, sustainable growth that allows us to serve more people without sacrificing the personalized care MVP is known for. One major area of expansion is MVP Golf Performance, where we plan to continue investing in technology, programming, and education to better support golfers of all ages and skill levels who want to play better and stay healthy.

Long term, our goal is to open additional MVP Physical Therapy locations in the Kansas City area, bringing our model of one-on-one care and performance-based rehabilitation to more communities. To support that growth, we plan to add more physical therapists and trainers who share our values and commitment to quality, allowing us to meet increasing demand while maintaining the high standard of care our patients expect.

We’re also excited to expand our services beyond the clinic walls, including offerings like in-home safety evaluations to help people stay independent and confident in their own homes. Above all, what we’re most looking forward to is continuing to grow alongside our community—helping more people move better, stay active, and live healthier lives for years to come.
