Community Highlights: Meet Cynthia Amano of Synergistic FIt Life

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Amano.

Hi Cynthia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my work in movement because I saw how deeply it could change people when it was taught with care, education, and intention. Early on, I realized I wasn’t interested in quick workouts or trends. I wanted to help people understand their bodies, move with confidence, and feel supported rather than judged.

I began teaching while continuing my own education, adding certifications and learning across multiple disciplines including Pilates, Barre, TRX, and rehabilitative movement. Over time, my work naturally shifted toward more personalized, one on one instruction. I saw how powerful individualized programming could be, especially for people navigating injuries, chronic pain, confidence issues, or major life transitions.

Building my business was not linear or easy. There were seasons of uncertainty, personal health challenges, and moments where I had to rebuild while still showing up for others. What kept me grounded was my commitment to my clients and my belief that movement should be accessible, personalized, and compassionate.

Today, I lead a studio rooted in education, community, and trust. I work closely with each person who walks through the door, often collaborating with other professionals to ensure they feel safe and supported. My goal has always stayed the same: to create a space where people feel seen, capable, and empowered in their own bodies.

This work continues to evolve, and so do I. I’m proud of what’s been built and even more grateful for the people who have walked alongside me in the process.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, but it has been a meaningful one. One of the biggest challenges was building something sustainable while staying true to my values in an industry that often prioritizes speed, trends, and volume over education and care. Choosing a slower, more intentional path meant growth took time and required patience and confidence in my vision.

There were also personal challenges along the way. I navigated significant health concerns while continuing to show up for my clients and business. Learning how to balance recovery, responsibility, and leadership was difficult, especially during moments when stepping back was not an option.

Another challenge was doing much of the work myself in the early stages. From programming and teaching to scheduling, marketing, and operations, I learned quickly how demanding entrepreneurship can be. Asking for help and learning to trust others was a growth process in itself.

Each obstacle pushed me to become more resilient, more educated, and more grounded. These challenges shaped not only how I run my business today, but how I support the people who walk through my doors.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Synergistic Fit Life is a boutique movement studio offering Pilates, Barre, TRX, and mat based classes with a strong focus on quality instruction and individualized support. The work centers on helping people move more efficiently, safely, and confidently through thoughtful programming and precise cueing.

We are especially known for our one on one and small group sessions, where each person receives attention tailored to their body, goals, and needs. Clients often come to us while navigating injuries, rebuilding strength, or seeking a more informed approach to movement, and we take pride in meeting them with care and clarity.

Beyond the physical practice, Synergistic Fit Life values education and connection. We collaborate with other health and wellness professionals and prioritize clear communication so clients feel supported both in and out of the studio.

What stands out most about our work is the environment we’ve created. It is calm, respectful, and empowering. People come not just to exercise, but to learn, build trust in their bodies, and feel genuinely supported as they grow.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Be patient with growth. Progress often looks quieter and slower than expected, but consistency matters more than speed. Focus on doing good work, showing up with integrity, and letting trust build naturally over time.

Invest in education and mentorship early. Learning from others who have walked the path before you can save time, prevent burnout, and help you avoid costly mistakes. You do not have to do everything alone.

Lastly, protect your values. It can be tempting to say yes to everything at the beginning, but building something sustainable requires boundaries. The right opportunities will align with who you are and what you stand for. Trust that saying no to the wrong things creates space for the right ones.
