Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Blevins.
Hi Kayla, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up believing that if I could just make it to college, I could change the trajectory of my family. Being the first to earn a degree felt heavy in the best and worst ways. Nursing became the path — not because it was easy, but because it was meaningful and attainable. I threw myself into it fully.
I spent over ten years in healthcare. I worked hard, showed up early, stayed late, and cared deeply. Along the way, I earned multiple awards for patient care and leadership — moments that should have felt like the peak. And for a while, they did. I was proud of the work I was doing and the lives I was able to impact.
Then the pandemic happened.
What once felt like purpose started to feel like survival. My scrubs became armor. I kept pushing, even when I was exhausted in ways I didn’t know how to explain. I was recognized for my work, but inside, I was running on fumes. Burnout doesn’t mean you weren’t good at your job — sometimes it means you were too good for too long without rest.
Walking away from nursing broke my heart a little. I didn’t leave because I failed. I left because I needed to live.
I stepped into the mortgage world as a Business Development Manager with no clear roadmap, just a deep need to rebuild myself from the ground up. It was uncomfortable starting over. Humbling. But it gave me space to breathe again. While working with real estate agents, I noticed how talented they were — and how overwhelmed they felt trying to show up online.
Helping them came naturally.
I wasn’t chasing a business idea. I was solving problems. One conversation turned into referrals. One post turned into momentum. I realized social media isn’t about being loud — it’s about being understood.
That’s how SocialDrive was born.
I built SocialDrive for the people who feel invisible in their own businesses. For the ones doing incredible work behind the scenes but struggling to tell their story. What started with real estate agents has grown into working with companies big and small, across industries and across the country.
I went from healthcare burnout to building a company from zero. And somewhere in that process, I found hope again — not the kind that’s loud or flashy, but the quiet kind that feels like alignment.
My story isn’t about leaving healthcare behind. It’s about honoring what it gave me, trusting myself enough to start over, and believing that even after burnout, you can build something that feels like home.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the hardest parts was trusting the process when I was building something no one could see yet. I was a brand-new business going up against established marketing companies with big teams, big budgets, and years of credibility. Meanwhile, I was doing everything myself and betting on experience, relationships, and instincts.
There were plenty of moments where doubt crept in — wondering if heart and hustle were enough, or if I needed to become louder or more polished to compete. I had to stay grounded, keep showing up, and trust that doing the work the right way would eventually speak louder than the size of the company.
SocialDrive didn’t grow fast because it was flashy. It grew because it was real — and because I refused to quit before it had the chance to work.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SocialDrive?
SocialDrive is a social media marketing company built for businesses that are tired of blending in. I specialize in strategic social media, short-form video, and brand positioning that cuts through the noise and actually means something. There’s nothing cookie-cutter here — every strategy, caption, and piece of content is intentional and built around the brand behind it.
What sets SocialDrive apart is that I’m a one-woman operation. I handle the strategy, the content, and the relationships personally. Clients don’t get passed off to account managers or buried in systems — they work directly with me. That hands-on approach creates clarity, speed, and marketing that truly reflects who they are.
I’m known for helping businesses find their voice and own it. A lot of companies show up online but aren’t truly seen. I help create confidence and consistency so brands don’t just post — they stand out.
What I’m most proud of is that SocialDrive has grown entirely through trust and referrals. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just honest work and brands that speak for themselves.
What I want readers to know is this: SocialDrive isn’t about making your business louder — it’s about making it unmistakable.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people don’t realize that SocialDrive is truly a one-woman operation — not just in name, but in execution. Every strategy, caption, video concept, and client relationship is handled by me personally. There’s no team behind the scenes and no automation replacing connection.
Another thing that surprises people is that I didn’t come from a traditional marketing background. I spent over ten years in healthcare, earned multiple awards in that field, and learned discipline, empathy, and decision-making under pressure long before I ever touched marketing. That experience shapes how I run my business — with intention, accountability, and a deep respect for people’s time and trust.
Most of what I do is built on instinct, relationships, and consistency — not trends or templates. And that’s probably the biggest surprise of all.
