Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Waterman.
Hi Grace, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been making content for years. Being creative whether that’s through photo or video content/editing is something I’ve always loved.
When I first started I was a mom with just my son at the time. When watching other moms content I felt like because I had seen “mom vlogs” perform really well and become really popular I naturally felt like I needed to do the same.
I tried it for a while and it truly wasn’t resonating with me. It felt forced and that I was just playing off of someone else’s idea, but knew I had a passion for making videos so didn’t want to give up.
I’m a Christian and my relationship with the Lord is the most important thing in my life next to my family and marriage. I remember praying and giving this to God saying “I know you put this desire on my heart, and I want this to go somewhere, so what is it YOU want me to share? Not what I think everyone wants to see.”
Before I got married I was a single mom. I had been on WIC which is government assisted groceries. Amazing program – I remember after praying to God on this I one day got this “feeling” (which now the more I’ve matured in my faith, I’ve realized it’s actually the Holy Spirit) telling me to make grocery shopping vlogs but with the WIC money. So “WIC Grocery Shopping” vlogs. I remember finding this so confusing and asking God “ is this for real? Why would I share the fact that I’m on government assistance. It’s a little bit embarrassing and it doesn’t make a lot of sense. It also is it something that’s popular so why would that do well?”
But if there is one thing that the Lord has taught me, it is that his way is always better than my own. So instead of doing my own thing, I chose to be obedient to what he was asking me to do. I shared my first grocery shopping vlog on government assistance on my YouTube channel and my first video ever went viral. It wasn’t just about the virality it was more like confirmation from the Lord on choosing to trust him in his ways.
It truly became such a blessing because it connected me with other moms who would say things like “ thank you so much for sharing this. You never see anything like this and it makes me feel seen or not alone.”
Fast forward to now I’m married and we have another kid. I am a stay at home. Mom and we are on my husband‘s income. During our first few years of marriage while I was still creating content, I really started to read up more on stewardship in the Bible. Stewarding well our finances, our home, really just overall stewarding well the role of being a mom, a wife, really just everything that the Lord has blessed us with and managing it well.
So now I have a presence on TikTok as well as YouTube and Instagram, and I share overall on budgeting and stewardship. I started this TikTok channel April 2025 and just hit 36,000 and 10,000 on YouTube! Not only is this so fun for me, it’s really not just about the numbers.
It’s really about using what the Lord is teaching me, and how this has not only blessed my community to be better stewards, but to also use everything they have to glorify the Lord.
It’s been so fun getting to be on social media, but if there’s anything I’ve learned as I’ve grown in my faith and in my business, it’s that everything I have is his as well as my platform and as long as he is willing, I’ll steward it well to serve his community and him!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road whenever I was just trying to post whatever was popular. It wasn’t until I truly started sharing what God wanted me to share, is when I truly started seeing that growth happen!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an influencer, mom, and wife who shares content on budgeting, and overall stewardship!
I think what sets me apart is that I’m not sharing the everyday sit down/write out a budget type of content. A lot of the time I am sharing shopping blogs within our set budget that my husband and I have set for the month and sharing flogs shopping/sticking within that budget! This is to encourage other moms and wives that you can still have fun shopping and you can have freedom within your finances within your means!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the community! I found some of my best friends
There really isn’t much that I dislike about it here!
