An Inspired Chat with Faith Ndavi & Florliz Mungai of Kansas City

Faith Ndavi & Florliz Mungai shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Faith & Florliz, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
We are being called to step out of our comfort zone and do something unique in our community.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Our journey in starting a young women’s ministry began with a shared passion for creating a space where young women could grow in faith, find community, and discover their purpose. We saw the unique challenges young women face—balancing faith with societal pressures, navigating identity, and seeking genuine connection.

One pivotal moment that solidified our vision was hosting our first Vision Board Night December 2023. As young women gathered to set goals and share their dreams, we realized how deeply they longed for guidance, encouragement, and a faith-filled community to walk alongside them. Through their conversations, we saw a need for a ministry that would provide not just spiritual growth, but also mentorship, support, and a place to be truly seen and heard.

From that night forward, we knew God was calling us to build something greater—a ministry designed to uplift, empower, and equip young women to step boldly into their God-given purpose. What started as a simple gathering became the foundation for a movement of faith, sisterhood, and transformation. And we’re just getting started!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Relationships often break when communication fades, trust is wounded, pride hardens the heart, or unspoken hurt creates distance but scripture shows that what restores bonds is humility, forgiveness, and truth spoken in love—choosing grace over ego and reconciliation over silence. When both people are willing to repent, extend mercy, and rebuild trust through consistent actions, God can heal what was broken. With patience, prayer, and a commitment to love as Christ loves, relationships can be restored and strengthened beyond what they were before

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held us back most is the fear of being seen. There has also been the fear of stepping into what God called us to do and somehow falling short. It made us overthink, hesitate, and shrink back from the very places we were meant to stand in. But we’re learning that God never asked us to be perfect, just willing. Every time we choose courage over fear, He fills the gaps we worry about. What we once believed was “not enough” was never true—God has always been the One who makes us enough.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value we protect at all costs is creating a safe space where people feel seen, respected, and loved—without judgment. In our community, we guard the culture of openness, authenticity, and spiritual growth. We don’t tolerate gossip, comparison, or anything that tears people down. Instead, we protect the culture of sisterhood, accountability, and God-centered conversations. It’s when people feel safe, they can heal. And when they feel loved, they can grow.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
For a long time, it felt easy to follow the path people expected—what seemed practical, acceptable, or “safe.” But deep down, God kept tugging on our hearts, reminding us that purpose doesn’t come from people’s expectations but from His calling. Little by little, we’re learning to choose what we were born to do: create spaces, pour into others, walk in ministry, and step boldly into the assignments He’s placed in our hands. We’re no longer living from pressure—we’re living from purpose.
