Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayley Adams.
Hi Kayley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Essential Eats Grazing, LLC is a full-service catering company. We specialize in grazing tables, high-end catering events, and office boxed lunches.
Our story began when the owner, Kayley Adams, started culinary competitions in high school. She won her first competition at the state level in California. The club she was participating in, FHA-HERO, fueled her passion for culinary arts and she won a total of 3 competitions at State level, which awarded her scholarships to the prestigious Culinary School, Johnson & Wales University. She graduated with a bachelors of science in Culinary Nutrition.
After working in the industry for 14 years, Kayley and her husband, Tyler Adams, decided to create their own catering company. They began in a commissary kitchen, called the Ennovation Center. After 1 year of being there, they eventually moved their operation to Blue Springs and opened a pre-order cafe in addition to their catering services.
They have been there for over 1 year now and have been in business for 2 years. They are licensed, insured, and now have over 16 years of experience working in foodservice.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have experienced many challenges and the economy is our biggest hurdle right now. Food cost is incredibly high, energy costs, website fees, and most of our inquiries for events have a champagne taste with a beer budget.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We use artisan products for our grazing tables. Elegant cheeses, quality meats, and the freshest produce we can source from our vendors. Our grazing tables are unique, customized for each event, and we always bring a creative & artistic flair to our table displays. It’s something that will impress your guests, not just another meat and cheese board.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
We are a two-person team. We have catered and cooked for up to 400+ guests consistently by ourselves. Our past work experience enables us to work within the high costs of the industry currently and stay afloat.
Pricing:
- Grazing tables range from $1500-$4000 depending on guest count and event length.
- Boxed lunches range from $18-23 depending on selection
