Daily Inspiration: Meet Jacob Carter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Carter.

Hi Jacob, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ike’s Cold Lemonade was born in July of 2023, right in front of the house where young entrepreneur Isaac, known as “Ike,” and his father first set up shop. Long before the brand reached stores, the two worked side by side — making the lemonade by hand, cleaning bottles, applying labels, and packaging every product themselves. For nearly two years, their hard work and dedication built the foundation for what would become a Detroit favorite.
Their commitment paid off. What began as a small front-yard stand quickly became an instant hit at festivals, pop-ups, and community events, earning Ike’s Cold Lemonade a place on the shelves of Marathon gas stations. With deep roots in the Detroit community and the full support of Straight Gate Church and Life Church, Ike’s Cold represents more than a refreshing drink — it’s a story of faith, family, and persistence. Ike’s Cold sells for $5 per bottle, and uses premium, and clean ingredients for the taste locals love.
To date, Ike’s Cold Lemonade has sold over 3,000 bottles and continues to grow with every pour. From humble beginnings to local success, one thing remains the same: “Let Ike’s Get You Right.”

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. It’s been hard trying to find grants and funding for this venture. All funds are coming from my own pocket. I’m basically putting my all into this venture so that I can leave a legacy and the business to my son when I’m not here anymore. Sometimes the work gets overwhelming but I continue to press on because I believe this business will be an international success

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an artist, I had the pleasure of being the designer for Ike’s Cold Lemonade. From the logo, to the design of the bottle, I was able to create all of what the consumers see. I am known for my artistry and am now able to be seen by a wider audience due to the selling of the lemonade. I think what sets me apart is being led by God. In doing so, I receive unique and special ideas and dreams that I’m able to illustrate. I’m most proud of the logo and my sons face being the first thing the consumer sees

What are your plans for the future?
In the future I plan to have Ike’s Cold lemonade sold in DTW metro airport. This will be a huge stepping stone for the business, as well as a testament of unwavering faith
