Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina Gabrielli.
Hi Karina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I made my first batch of soap in 2010 and absolutely fell in love! Not only could I create something with my two hands but I could combine my passions of science, art, and nature into one single hobby. I think the name Temple Earth really embodies the essence of my craft.
After several years of making soap and perfecting my organic ingredients formula, I decided to take the leap and start selling in 2019. The feedback I receive from my customers is so generous and inspires me to create and do more. I now make a wide range of products including organic lip balms, lotions, body sprays, and perfumes. I still have more to achieve and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is always challenging to start and maintain a business! I think for me, being the introvert that I am, is going outside of my comfort zone and engaging with customers and potential clients. It is almost like stage fright, but it has always gone smoothly and I have made so many new friends and connections.
Soap making isn’t always “easy going”! Sometimes a fragrance oil can turn fluid batter into a solid brick within seconds!! There have been many instances of this and it is always disheartening!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a soap/cosmetic maker and the business owner of Temple Earth LLC.
We are committed to using high-quality, natural ingredients in our soaps and skincare products, and prioritize using organic oils, plant-based butters, ethically sourced ingredients, and skin-safe “clean” fragrance oils. Our focus is clean beauty.
I am most proud that Temple Earth is ever evolving and striving to make things better for our products, our customers, and our earth.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I think the most important lesson I have learned along the way is just to BREATHE! When I first started selling, I thought I was going to take the world by storm but after a while I realized that I was perfectly content in my own little place in the universe.
I have a lot of return customers (some that have become genuine friends) and that right there has given me the encouragement that I need to keep going and always strive for more.
