Tristan Gonzales of Midtown on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tristan Gonzales. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Tristan, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I think I’m somewhere in the middle on that. I feel like I know where I want to go but I’m still figuring out all the steps that work to get there

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tristan Gonzales. But I’m better known as “Magnificent T” Who is a Rap, Pop & Hip Hop artist from New York but currently based in Kansas City MO. I think what makes me stand out is my blend of new and old school Hip Hop plus all my other genre mixing I do. I’m currently working on new singles which will showcase my sound and direction I’m going in more permanently with my career.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I think the moment that shaped who I was was surviving a suicide attempt back when I was a young adult at 19. After that my view on a lot of things changed and the level of importance on me going after my goals went up.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I taught me to be more thankful and cherish the good moments in life. And it really made me live those good moments to the fullest better.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I think it mostly is. Certain things I might exaggerate or hide when in the public light but that’s more for personal reasons.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who never gave up on his dreams and lived my life to the fullest with everything. And also remember me as someone who was genuine and always had good intentions.
