Jesse Schliebe of Kansas City on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Jesse Schliebe shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Jesse, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
At this point in my life, I can honestly say that I am on a path. The path is following Jesus the best I can and know how to. This walk isnt easy but I will say ever since I asked Jesus into my life, life has significantly improved.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jesse Schliebe, the stage name given to me was and is: Jesaiah Rae. I am a rapper / artist and a mental health advocate. The brand is a small clothing line im still incubating but is still available on Teespring.com.

I started it Jan 20th 2020 to help advocate for mental health. I am also a streamer ! I stream warzone on twitch with the name ShowerGnome. I am in the process of starting a gew companies on top of all of this. Been waiting on my a&r to release my new music also.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Doing L.S.D. in all honesty. My experience with drugs was completely spiritual. Im in this era of loving myself and repairing the damage ive done to myself over the years not knowing how to handle trauma. I was in therapy for a while and that really helped.

Im no longer in a relationship either. Im focused on myself and will be patient for whom ever God wants me to be with. The last 2 year long distance relationship I was in never went anywhere and it made me feel like I got used but thats okay. You live and you learn.

Going to the gym and working on myself has been a phenomenal journey so far.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Just recently… I wasnt aware of how much power I gave to my last relationship… its a lesson I had to learn. Im turning all that sadness and grief into light and using the testimony of what ive been through to show others they can do it too. Whether its getting off drugs, the streets, knowing your value or just achieving goals. You can do anything. Youre a limitless creature.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Money, drugs, women and fame are definitely glorified. The culture is corrupt and going down hill quickly.

Real rap will never die because real rappers and artists like myself will unify before we let anything really happen to music. Or at least our genre.

The music industry itself as a business is satanic and full of horrible deeds as you’ve all seen with the Sean Combs trials.

Jesus is king & all things done in the dar will come to the light eventually.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Probably my Roth IRA and some crypto investments haha. Maybe all the energy ive out into finding a wife also hahahah

Im doing my best to invest into my future. I just got my 401k started and a life insurance policy for 50k
