We recently had the chance to connect with Nia Marie and have shared our conversation below.
Nia, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’ve started getting into the habit of not getting on my phone as soon as I wake up. I let my dog out and do some stretching and meditation in bed before I do some journaling. I did the Artist Way Challenge, so I’ve gotten into the habit of doing my morning pages everyday. I’m not usually super hungry in the morning so I’ll make myself some tea and doing a little bit of “doom scrolling” before I start getting ready for my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My Name is Nia Marie, I am a photographer, content creator, and a creative entrepreneur. A lot of the work that I do revolves around lifestyle, and creativity. Right now, I’m building something special behind the scenes. It’s a project that is very near and dear to me and that reflects everything I’ve learned about personal growth, confidence and the art of getting dressed with intention. I’m excited to bring that vision to life and to be able to share it soon.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I would say my best friend Edy! I’ve always been inspired by her work ethic and her attitude towards her work. She is always striving to improve and get better at what she does. Whether that it’s in Journalism or Content Creation. I’ve learned a lot from her and continue to learn and get inspired to this day.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
For me music has always been my emotional safety net. As a child I would play my favorite songs while dancing or crying in my room (let’s be real…I still do this), which is something that has always felt cathartic.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my friends would say my relationships (with my friends and family), my dog, and a perfectly crafted aesthetic!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I think as a multi-passionate individual, I would regret not doing (or at least trying) everything single thing that brought me joy. I want to dabble in Dj-ing, acting, modeling (again), film production and so much more!
