Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Jianetti.
Hi Jake, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a rapper, singer, songwriter, influencer and beatboxer! My journey definitely started with music but as I grew a following, brands started reaching out to me for sponsorships as well; it’s shown me I’m a true creative at heart and that I don’t have to limit myself to just music!
Music has always been what I love & I’d have to say my cousins’ were the major influence that got me into creating music. They would get together in a group, turn some beats on and start rapping. I was 12 when I started freestyling with them and I created my first song when I was 14 off my cousin’s laptop. I’m blessed I found what I love at a young age. My driving force to get this far has been mainly passion and adaptability. Throughout my 18 year music career, I’ve consistently been told that I have so much passion it resonates in my music and when I perform. People can feel real, and they know when you’re not what you preach. I have always taken pride in creating music that connects with people and has real emotion in it; situations that people have been through or feelings that we have all experienced. Life is about adaptation and growing, but this doesn’t mean you can’t retain who you are; music holds the same principle!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth but I’m very grateful for it. It has helped teach me lessons I wouldn’t have received otherwise; a few of the being:
1. Nothing worth attaining was ever attained over night.
2. If you love something/ someone, you’ll find time and you’ll find a way.
3. Value those who support you with nothing to gain.
I’ve struggled with doubts of being successful, finding the time to do everything, trusting the wrong people, and gaining more of a following. The list above describes what I took from those struggles; a mistake can become a lesson if something is learned.

As said above, I am a rapper, singer, beat boxer & influencer! I specialize in all of the above and never limit myself to expanding my book of business.
I believe what sets me apart from others, is my work ethic. I take pride in knowing that very few work like I do and as much as I do. I book my own shows, promote/run all of my social media, my website and my emails, find all of my sponsorships, create my own music, do all of the research to adapt with the industry and all while working a full time job. This is the difference between me and others.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Network = Networth. Meet, greet and work with as many people as possible! Many opportunities come from who you know.
One of the first things any artist, entrepreneur or business person should do is create their own website. Having your own website is like your own virtual business; everything here is YOU. Websites are the perfect place to send someone because they may go there for one thing and realize you do so much more, leading to more traction and more support.
I also wish I knew how ruthless the music and business industry was when I started. There are scammers, fakers, liars, etc. and they will be at your doorstep every day trying to catch you slipping especially if you start seeing success. Be vigilant, do your research on these entities, and learn YOUR process for filtering information. I’ve given people too much time that abused mine as well as my money; be vigilant. But just as there are bad opportunities there are good ones too so keep an open mind!
