Exploring Life & Business with Danielle Lehman of Super Crunch Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Lehman.

Danielle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my career working at a boutique marketing agency in Southern California while I went to school part-time at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation, I worked at Myspace, then for a few startups, a tech incubator in Santa Monica, and then made my way back to Kansas City (I grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas, so it was sort of going home for me).

When I came here, I was mostly consulting with clients back in California, doing product development and marketing, but I slowly started making connections here and building a business providing marketing consulting and services to businesses in KC.

I made a lot of connections through some pro bono projects I led in 2019-2021, including a podcast called Open Belly, where I interviewed immigrant restaurant owners about their story and how they’re using their family recipes to introduce folks to their culture. During COVID, I launched CurbsideKC.com, a free database where restaurant owners could share information on how customers could place online orders for curbside pickup. And during the 2020 General Election, I launched Curbside Notary, a free notary service for Missouri voters who wanted to vote by mail. All of these projects connected me with really cool entrepreneurs, creatives, volunteers, and community members who have shaped my career going forward.

In 2024, I rebranded my agency to “Super Crunch Studio” and we now focus on helping entrepreneurs, changemakers, and innovators share their story and connect with customers with marketing strategy and support. We primarily work with hospitality businesses, sports teams, nonprofits, and other small businesses, but we’re up for almost any challenge.

A few notes about the photos I included:
– We’ve been lucky to work with Aramark Sports + Entertainment for the past 3 years supporting retail and concessions marketing for the Chiefs and Royals
– In 2024, we had the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears through our clients at Aramark Sports + Entertainment
– There are a few behind the scenes photos of some other projects, including the voting booth Hufft created for Curbside Notary, the photo booth from an Open Belly Podcast event, and some miscellaneous photo shoots

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting fresh in Kansas City was tough at first, but this city really embraces new ideas, progress, and people who are willing to put in the work. I’ve made so many genuine connections and I’m really proud of all of the incredible people we’ve been able to support along the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I look for partners who want more than just someone to manage their social media — I want to help them grow on a strategic level. My focus is on building brands from the inside out through smart partnerships, creative campaigns, and strong, consistent brand development. I also love helping teams put the right systems and processes in place so their marketing efforts can really scale.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I work with professional pickleball athletes and teams through the National Pickleball League, a professional league for players aged 50 and older. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, and I also coach my son’s baseball team.
