Community Highlights: Meet Jennifer Pham of Jennifer Pham Shelter Insurance Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Pham.

Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had an interest to becoming an insurance agency when I was 21 years old. I had never done insurance in the past. Since high school my career was all medical billing, coding and administration in a physician office. After having children and staying home for a few years. I decided when I entered the work force again I would try to do what I always had the desire to do. If I failed at least I tried. I applied to work with a local insurance agency in Olathe. A female agent took a chance on someone with no official sales experience. I just had a passion for helping others. She shortly became the best mentor I have had and made me realize I could have my own agency one day. My spouse was a big support in helping me choose Shelter Insurance and to pursue my dreams as being a business owner. What began as a simple interest in understanding how coverage worked quickly turned into a lifelong career built on relationships and trust. I worked hard to grow my knowledge and earn my clients confidence. I have built an agency that reflects my values of honest, care and community in the small town of Louisburg.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have had many challenges. I started my agency at a time when I just finished battling breast cancer and I had to still have a few surgical procedures. I opened my agency in a small town and I didn’t know a single soul.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Jennifer Pham Shelter Insurance Agency?
I am a Shelter Insurance Agent. I provide coverage for personal, business, and life insurance. I am extremely proud of our Shelter Brand. We have won several customer services awards for the seventh time in the last 8 years we have the JD Power ranked highest in custom satisfaction in auto insurers. I am proud to work for a company who provides great customer service. Today I am proud to lead a successful agency, I have two wonderful assistants and we pride ourselves in providing that same excellent care to our customers. We strive to serve and educate everyone on what their policy actually covers.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Please support local insurance agencies. Don’t use a call center call someone who can explain coverages in detail and can be there for you and with you on your worst day. I love to give back to my insureds as well. If I have someone insured that does window cleaning. I will use their service. I feel like I need to give back to my insureds and my community. If I didn’t I wouldn’t be here without them.
