Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Hall.
Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in this industry started with a genuine love for makeup actually. I initially got into makeup artistry because I was fascinated by the transformation, not just physically, but emotionally. I loved seeing how someone’s posture, expression, and energy changed when they felt good about themselves.
As I continued learning more about makeup, (self taught) I realized how beneficial a healthy base is for foundation, which led me to dive deeper into skincare. That’s what inspired me to take the next step and become a licensed esthetician. Gaining that deeper understanding of skin health, ingredients, and treatment protocols gave me the tools to make others feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
After working hands on and building relationships with clients in school, I knew I wanted to create a space where people felt cared for, seen, and supported beyond just a service appointment. That’s what led me to open my own studio. My goal has always been to combine results driven treatments with a warm, personalized experience. I’m proud of the environment I’ve cultivated and the results I’ve achieved for my clients. Every day I get to help people feel more confident and comfortable in their skin, and that’s truly why I do what I do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the most significant obstacles I faced on my journey was during my time in esthetics school. In the middle of my training, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Balancing the demands of attending school full time while being present for her through treatment was incredibly challenging. There were moments when it would have been easier to step away and pause my education, but I made a goal and a promise to her that she would see me graduate and I kept that promise. She genuinely believed in my passion and encouraged me to keep going, even on the hardest days.
She passed away shortly before I opened my studio. Losing her during such a pivotal moment in my life was difficult, but it also gave my work a deeper meaning. She’s a large part of why I show up with so much care and intention, because I understand how important it is to feel supported, seen, and nurtured.
Starting a business while navigating grief was not easy. I had to learn how to be resourceful, how to maintain my vision, and how to stay dedicated even when things felt overwhelming. But it also taught me empathy and the value of building a space where clients feel safe, comforted, and valued.
Those challenges shaped the way I approach my work today. I don’t just provide treatments, I create an experience where people feel cared for. And I think that perspective is one of my greatest strengths as an esthetician and business owner.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in customized facial treatments that are equally as relaxing as they are results driven. My approach prioritizes both skin health and the client’s overall experience. I believe that great results come from not only the products and techniques used, but also how a person feels during and after their treatment. I take time to assess the skin, understand my clients’ goals, and create a treatment plan that addresses their concerns while providing a calming, therapeutic environment. I think a lot people underestimate how healing human touch can be and how important it is to our overall health.
I’m very proud of the education and advanced training I’ve completed. In addition to earning my esthetician license, I also achieved my CIDESCO International Diploma in Skin Care, which is one of the highest standards in our industry. It required comprehensive knowledge of skin science, facial techniques, and global skincare practices. It was a challenging but incredibly rewarding accomplishment, and it allows me to provide services that are thoughtful, informed, and tailored with a high level of expertise.
What I enjoy most about my work is helping clients feel confident and comfortable in their skin. Whether someone is dealing with acne, aging concerns, or just needs a moment to relax and recharge, I love being able to create treatments that nurture both the skin and the person.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the quality that has contributed most to my success is being non judgmental and genuinely understanding of others. In this industry, clients come to us not only with their skin concerns, but often with personal feelings, insecurities, and vulnerabilities. Creating a space where people feel safe, heard, and respected is essential. You never know what someone may be going through.
I take the time to listen without assumptions and meet each person exactly where they are. When someone feels comfortable, they’re more open about their concerns, more receptive to education, and more confident in the process. I aim to build trust and valuable relationships with my clients.
Being understanding also helps me adapt my services to different needs, lifestyles, and comfort levels. No two clients are the same, and I want each person to feel welcomed and cared for. I believe that treating people with empathy and respect is just as important as technical skill, and it’s a core part of how I approach my work every day.
