Dai’Janise , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
started my career back in 2018 when I first learned how to do lash extensions. At the time, I didn’t fully keep up with the skill set, but that experience planted a seed for my passion in the beauty industry. A while later, I noticed a local woman creating wigs, and seeing her pursue her craft inspired me to pick my own dreams back up.
From there, I decided to invest in myself and enrolled in an esthetics program. During that time, I not only revisited lash extensions but also expanded my skills to include services like waxing, brow lamination, lash lifts, and more. Eventually, I launched my own lash product line, which gave me my first real taste of entrepreneurship.
Later, I connected with another woman named Kanei, who owned her own lip gloss and lash line. We attended an entrepreneurship luncheon together in Omaha, Nebraska, in October 2023. On the drive back, I shared with her my vision of becoming a salon owner — and she immediately supported it. We decided to partner up and bring that vision to life, creating KD’s Beauty Bar.
That journey taught me the importance of persistence, collaboration, and believing in my vision even when it takes time to unfold.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, I believe it’s come with its fair share of both being smooth, but also challenging. For example, just learning the structure behind the scenes of being a business owner. So knowing things about 1099’s ,W-2,,taxes, having an accountant inventory, marketing, and so much more, Luckily, being able to network and have resources from other long term business owners, whether in the beauty industry or others, has been great to have l readily available for any questions I may have.

We’re a successful full service, Beauty business specializing in hair, waxing lashes, facials, nails spray, tan, and more truly a one stop shop for all things beauty and self-care. What were most known for is the way we make our clients feel. I would say the most important quality that’s contributed to our success is genuineness – both and how we treat people and how we approach our work. We truly care about every person who walks through our doors and that sincerity shows in the way we connect with our clients, not only with our clients, but in the way we interact with the community as a whole. We’ve hosted free events such as trunk or treats,free clothing drives, coat drives, winter wonderland kid hened parties for those less fortunate and etc. These events were before we were even known or even had our own space to do the events. People can feel when you’re authentic and I believe that’s what keeps them coming back and telling their friends about us. Alongside that, consistency and passion play a huge role. We’re consistent, not only in delivering great results, but also in maintaining the same warm, welcoming atmosphere every single day. Our passion for what we do pushes us to keep learning growing, and offering the best possible experience to everyone who visits. At the end of the day, our success comes from building, genuine relationships, staying humble, and treating every client like one of our own.
