Hi Amanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been ready to help others—driven, determined, and willing to work hard for everything. But it wasn’t until my early forties, while walking through some of life’s hardest seasons, that I truly discovered what true healing meant.
I began writing in a journal that soon became my sanctuary—a space filled with eastern healing and methods used to overcome this chapter in my life. Through those pages, I found peace, clarity, and a sense of wholeness I hadn’t felt before. That’s when I knew I wanted to share this light with others.
I turned my words into a holistic healing journal, had it beautifully designed, and printed 200 copies. I started small—selling at holistic fairs, meeting people, and sharing my story. Alongside the journals, I created handmade essential oil products and other metaphysical products infused with intention. Each one was made to help others feel at peace.
My passion grew into purpose. I became a certified yoga teacher, a Reiki Master after three dedicated years of study, and a sound healing practitioner. Every step brought me closer to my dream: to create a spa that offered everything —an escape where everyone felt comfortable and serene.
I knew we wanted this for our hometown Pleasant Hill, a small town just south of Kansas City. I was led to a building in our historic downtown and began transforming it- room by room—into the perfect escape!
Now, the dream is alive in a space that blends holistic healing with complete beauty and wellness services. Here, we offer a variety of spa treatments alongside energy work, yoga, sound healing, and all-natural handmade products—everything designed to bring harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. It’s a place where self-care becomes sacred and where beauty radiates from the inside out.
It wasn’t always easy; there were tears, moments of doubt, and times I almost gave up. But my faith and my calling kept me moving forward.
Now, nearly two years after opening in April 2024, I look around and see what once lived only in my imagination—a space born from determination. Alongside other business owners, our soul work happens here —teaching, creating, and helping others rediscover their light and enhancing their well-being. It’s not just a spa—it’s a reflection of the love I have for others. It’s self-made, spirit-led, and rooted in what I believe. Our mission is simple: to help people heal, to remind them they are worthy of peace, and to show that true beauty and wholeness begin within.
This is just the beginning , and I can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes us
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are so many details that go into starting your own business that you don’t realize till you begin . I honestly can say nothing ever went right the first time, or the second, and sometimes the third. I had countless hardships along the way: loss of friends, family, and hard situations, all of this testing my strength and faith. Through it all though, I’ve learned, grown, and continued to move forward with purpose. Each challenge has shaped who I am today — stronger, wiser, and more grounded in gratitude and faith.”

In the process of starting and building a business it’s not easy , but I feel as if it makes you stronger. Every challenge has strengthened my faith and reminded me that God is always by my side. Through it all, I’ve learned the beauty of trusting the process and just knowing it’s all part of the journey.
