Today we’d like to introduce you to Max Farmer.
Hi Max, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Five Fold Solutions in early 2024 with my business partner, Jason Luce, after years of seeing how homeowners were often left feeling stressed or disappointed by the remodeling process. We wanted to build a company that delivered craftsmanship and integrity in equal measure.
From day one, our mission has been simple: transform spaces and serve people with excellence, integrity, and purpose. We began small, just the two of us handling everything from design to demo and we built trust one project at a time.
As our reputation grew, so did our vision. We expanded from basic remodels to full design-build projects across the Kansas City area. At this point we’ve seen it all from kitchens and bathrooms to basements, and outdoor living. Along the way we’ve developed systems that turn every project into a story, something we can share with homeowners to inspire confidence and show what’s possible when care meets craftsmanship.
Today, Five Fold Solutions is growing into more than a remodeling company. It’s a reflection of our values doing right by clients, leading with honesty, and building a business that lasts because it’s rooted in trust. Every project is personal to us, and every home is an opportunity to serve.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a company from the ground up comes with a fair share of growing pains but those challenges are what shaped us into who we are today. When we launched Five Fold Solutions, we didn’t have a big team or outside funding, just two people committed to doing things the right way and earning trust one project at a time.
Early on, the toughest part was balance. Managing cash flow, scheduling jobs, keeping up with clients, and building brand awareness all at once can stretch any small business thin. We made mistakes, learned quickly, and refined our systems as we went.
Another major hurdle was learning when to slow down. In construction, it’s easy to say yes to everything, but we realized that growth without structure can compromise quality. So, we focused on processes, from communication to craftsmanship ensuring that every client experience reflected the standards we built the company on.
Those early challenges taught us that excellence isn’t about perfection; it’s about consistency, integrity, and care. Today, those lessons guide every project we take on. The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s made us stronger and our clients can feel that difference in the way we work.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Five Fold Solutions is a Kansas City–based design-build remodeling company focused on transforming spaces and serving people with excellence, integrity, and purpose. We specialize in residential renovations: kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and outdoor living as well as light commercial projects like boutique offices and retail buildouts.
What sets us apart is how we approach every project: we treat each home like it’s our own. Our clients value honesty, craftsmanship, and communication, and we’ve built our reputation on earning trust rather than chasing volume. From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, our goal is to make the process as clear and enjoyable as the result itself.
We’re most proud of the relationships we’ve built. Many of our projects come from referrals and repeat clients who tell us they felt genuinely cared for. That’s the highest compliment we can receive because to us, remodeling isn’t just about improving homes; it’s about serving people well.
What does success mean to you?
For us, success isn’t just measured in revenue or the number of projects completed, it’s measured in trust. If a client feels cared for, informed, and genuinely proud of the space we’ve created together, that’s success.
We define success by the strength of our relationships and the consistency of our values, even when things get challenging. A job well done is one that leaves a lasting impression, not just on the home, but on the homeowner’s experience.
On a broader level, success means building a business that lasts because it serves people the right way. If we can continue to grow, create meaningful work for others, and maintain the same level of integrity that we started with, then we’re achieving what we set out to do.
