Conversations with Georgina Herrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgina Herrera.

Hi Georgina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
my story really begins in Mexico, where I was born and raised in a family that valued hard work, creativity, and business. My family had a jewelry company, so from a young age I was surrounded by craftsmanship, design, and the idea that jewelry carries meaning — it’s not just something you wear; it tells your story.

Before moving to the United States with my family, I worked for several years in international business, learning how to build relationships, manage brands, and understand markets. But deep down, I knew I wanted to create something that reflected my own voice, my heritage, and my belief that women should feel empowered and confident every day.

In 2010, I founded Georgina Jewelry — a brand built on love, art, and tradition. I wanted to blend my Mexican roots with modern, timeless design — jewelry that feels bold and sophisticated, yet deeply personal. Every piece is made to inspire confidence and remind women of their own strength and beauty.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of seeing Georgina Jewelry featured on red carpets at the Oscars, Grammys, and Latin Grammys, as well as in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, and other leading fashion magazines. My collections have walked the runways of New York, Paris, and Miami Fashion Weeks, and we’ve partnered with amazing showrooms like Flying Solo, PR Solo, and The Copper Room.

It’s been a journey of faith, resilience, and passion — and I still feel like this is just the beginning. My goal is to continue creating jewelry that empowers women everywhere and keeps our traditions alive through modern art.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road — and I think every entrepreneur can relate to that. When you start something from passion, there are always challenges along the way. For me, it was learning to balance creativity with the realities of running a business — managing production, timelines, and global logistics while keeping the artistic vision alive.

Building a brand from the ground up, especially in a competitive industry, takes resilience. There were times when materials were delayed, shows were canceled, or the workload felt overwhelming. But I’ve always believed that challenges are opportunities to grow stronger.

Every obstacle has taught me something valuable and made me more determined to keep pushing forward. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s ahead.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At my core, I’m a designer and storyteller — I create jewelry that connects emotion, heritage, and art. Through Georgina Jewelry, I design pieces that empower women to feel confident, elegant, and authentic. Every collection is inspired by my Mexican roots, my culture, and the women who wear them — strong, sophisticated, and full of life.

My work blends modern fashion trends with timeless craftsmanship, resulting in designs that are bold yet refined — pieces that truly make a statement. I love combining sculptural shapes, clean lines, and symbolic elements that carry meaning. Each piece is more than an accessory; it’s a reflection of strength, beauty, and individuality.

I’m most proud that my creations have reached women all around the world — from everyday moments to the most prestigious red carpets,

What truly sets me apart is that every design has a soul — a story rooted in tradition, love, and empowerment. I don’t just design jewelry; I design pieces that celebrate who you are and remind you of your inner strength.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Honestly, I would say patience — and a lot of it! (laughs) Building a brand, creating collections, and working in fashion takes time, consistency, and trust in the process. There are so many moving parts — from design to production, to shows and partnerships — and not everything happens overnight.

I’ve learned that patience, combined with passion and perseverance, is key. When you love what you do, you learn to stay calm through challenges, to wait for the right opportunities, and to keep moving forward even when things take longer than expected.

Patience has allowed me to grow Georgina Jewelry with intention and integrity, and to enjoy every step of the journey — not just the results.
