Community Highlights: Meet Lorraine Taylor of LR Taylor Agency LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorraine Taylor.

Hi Lorraine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began my career with American Family Insurance in 1985, starting part-time and quickly discovering my passion for helping others protect what matters most. In 2005, I transitioned to a full-time role and played a key part in building a successful agency. After navigating personal changes and starting over following my divorce, I embraced a new chapter by stepping into agency ownership. My journey has been defined by dedication, adaptability, and a commitment to serving my clients with care and integrity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with any business, there are many challenges—but even more positives. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work has been helping my Nevada customers recover after the tornado last April. Supporting them through such a difficult time reminded me of the true impact we can have in our community and reinforced my commitment to being there for my clients when they need it most.

We’ve been impressed with LR Taylor Agency LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My core values—integrity, community, accountability, respect, and honesty—truly define who I am as a business owner. I am passionate about making a difference in the world and believe strongly in giving back to the community. My team is like family to me, and I view my customers as much more than just clients; they are an important part of our extended family. Building genuine relationships and making a positive impact are at the heart of everything I do.

Selling life insurance is one of my most important roles, as it allows me to help protect what matters most for my clients and their families. I also truly enjoy working with customers on their personal and commercial insurance needs, ensuring they have the coverage and support they deserve.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in Saudi Arabia, where my childhood was a tapestry of adventure and travel. Living in a country so different from my birthplace exposed me to a vibrant mix of cultures, languages, and traditions from an early age. As a third-world child, I learned to adapt quickly, appreciate the simple things, and embrace diversity in all its forms. My experiences ranged from exploring bustling city markets to traveling across deserts and visiting ancient historical sites, each moment teaching me valuable lessons about resilience, curiosity, and respect.

Being immersed in such a multicultural environment helped me develop a deep understanding and appreciation for people from all walks of life. I learned the importance of kindness, open-mindedness, and empathy—qualities that have stayed with me and continue to guide how I interact with my team, my customers, and my community today. Those formative years in Saudi Arabia not only shaped my values but also inspired my lifelong commitment to building genuine relationships and making a positive impact wherever I go.
