Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Walters.
Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for photography, but my true journey began in December 2020 — completely unplanned, in the most beautiful way. My sister agreed to let me photograph her for a boudoir session. I didn’t even have a studio then, so we set up right in her bedroom with what we had. It wasn’t fancy, but it was real — full of laughter, music, and me cheering her on every step of the way.
She had three looks that day, but the last one — a mix of neon and Christmas lights — will forever be one of my favorite memories. It was chaotic and creative, and we were just having fun figuring it out as we went. But when I showed her the final images… everything changed. Watching her eyes fill with tears as she whispered, ‘I can’t believe that’s me,’ hit me straight in the heart.
In that moment, I knew I’d found my purpose. I wanted every woman to feel what my sister felt — that powerful realization that she is beautiful, worthy, and enough, exactly as she is.
With the love and support of my incredible husband and my best friend, I took that spark and turned it into something bigger than myself. I built this business to give women a space to feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their own skin. And every single session since then has been a reminder of that first day — the laughter, the lights, and the moment someone finally sees their own beauty shining back at them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — not even close. As much as I wanted everything to fall perfectly into place, it didn’t. But every struggle has taught me something about who I am — not just as a photographer, but as a woman.
There have been moments where I’ve been ghosted by clients, or where people have taken advantage of my compassion. I pour so much of my heart into making sure every woman who walks into my studio feels seen, supported, and empowered — and sometimes that heart gets a little bruised in the process. But I’ve learned that having a big heart doesn’t make me weak; it just means I care deeply about what I do.
Those experiences forced me to grow stronger — to find balance between being kind and being firm, between giving grace and protecting my peace. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve learned hard lessons, and I’ve come out the other side with more confidence and clarity than ever before.
I’ve spent time investing in myself, learning from other photographers, and really digging into what kind of business owner I want to be. It’s been far from easy, but every challenge has shaped me into someone I’m proud of — someone who leads with heart, even when it’s been tested.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Eden for Eves Boudoir ?
My business is all about empowering women through boudoir photography. I specialize in creating a space where women can see themselves in a whole new light — confident, powerful, and unapologetically beautiful. Every session is designed to remind them that they are worthy of being celebrated, exactly as they are.
What sets me apart is the way I blend creativity with accessibility. Boudoir is often viewed as a luxury experience — and while it absolutely is, I’ve made it a mission to make that kind of self-love attainable. I believe every woman deserves the chance to feel that powerful and confident, so I’ve built my business around creative options and flexible pricing to make it possible for more women to experience it.
I’m known for my themed sessions, creative set designs, and the way I make every woman feel like she’s just hanging out with her hype girl who happens to have a camera. My clients trust me not only to photograph them beautifully but to see them — to bring out their confidence, their laughter, and their magic.
One thing I’m most proud of so far is my 13 Days of Halloween project that came to life last year. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, and I wanted to celebrate it in a way that combined everything I love — creativity, transformation, and empowerment. The project features 13 incredible women: six innocent characters, six naughty ones, and one dangerously in-between. Each woman is provided a costume and gets a mini solo session where her character truly comes to life, followed by one big group session that brings all the characters together.
Once all the sessions are complete and each lady chooses her favorite image, I begin posting the character reveals in my private Facebook group — one each day for 13 days leading up to Halloween. Each reveal includes a fun backstory for the character, and on Halloween itself, I share the grand finale — the full group session and a celebration of all the amazing women who took part. It’s creative, empowering, and such a fun way to bring women together to celebrate themselves and the season.
At the heart of it all, my brand is about connection, confidence, and celebrating individuality. Boudoir isn’t about perfection — it’s about embracing who you are right now and realizing that you are art.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk-taking has played a huge part in my journey — even when I didn’t realize it at the time. Starting my photography business was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. I didn’t have a studio, a big plan, or even all the confidence in the world… I just had this gut feeling that I was meant to do something that helped women see their own beauty. It was a huge leap of faith.
There were so many moments where I questioned if I was doing the right thing — if anyone would even believe in what I was creating. But I kept reminding myself that growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone. Every time I’ve pushed past fear, something amazing has come from it — whether it was meeting incredible clients, bringing one of my creative visions to life, or realizing my own strength along the way.
I think risk is a lot like boudoir itself — it’s vulnerable, it’s uncomfortable, and it requires trust. But when you take that leap, you find out what you’re truly capable of. I’ve learned that risk doesn’t always mean success right away, but it always means growth. And I’d rather take the chance and fall a few times than stay safe and wonder what could’ve been.
