Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Cook.
Hi Justin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I actually started my career as an electrician if you can believe that. Honestly, I wanted to change my legacy and I knew I wanted to help people. I started researching careers in the medical field and landed on Chiropractic. My story is unique because completely changed my career, went back to school as a married adult with kids and it was basically a complete do over. Put myself through Chiropractic school, moved to Lincoln, NE where I trained and completed my preceptorship. After that I started my practice in Kearney from ground zero. Just me, my small office and to be corny, a dream. That was eight years ago. Precision Chiropractic has grown to a local household name, we’ve seen everyone from a two day old on the way home from the hospital, local athletes, a Backstreet Boy and the grandma up the road. Our patient base is diverse in ages, stages and needs. At the end of 2025 our office will move into a new space in Kearney that will also house a full sports facility for local athletes and teams. Precision Athletics will carry on the vision I had ten years ago to change my legacy but now it will also increase the footprint and legacy or our town.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Aside from the struggles of getting through Chiropractic school with adult responsibilities, bills to pay and mouths to feed, I would say it’s been a stressful few years to be a small business owner, I know a lot of people understand that. From the ever changing world of commerce, the roller coaster of insurance billing, to all the things that happened in 2020, the regular highs and lows of being a business owner it’s been a wild ride to say the least. While there was nothing smooth about it, I can look back and see every bump got us to where we are today.

Dr. Allison in our office is also a Webster certified doctor, meaning she has a certificate to work specifically with pregnant and postpartum women and their infants to help them succeed during that time of change.
I am most proud of how well we take care of and treat our patients. I’ve always had the goal of our office feeling like family to everyone who walks in our doors and I believe we accomplish that every day.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I am a part of a national Chiropractic mentoring program and we as an office have participated in events and groups around our community over the last 8 years. Getting involved in our community, pitching in physically and financially to support what our community needs and supporting our school district has been the most successful things we’ve done. Early on we attended every street fair, every event, every luncheon, every football game and so on. That hard work at the start of our business gave us that boost in the community we needed to establish a know, like and trust feeling with potential clients. Connecting with our community has been the best thing we’ve done.
