Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Schell.
Hi Angela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up the youngest of 6 kids. Having four sisters and a mother who loved shopping for the latest trends led to my passion for fashion. After college, I worked at Lee in Merriam and became very knowledgeable in fabric, fit and styling. When Lee relocated to North Carolina, I decided I would follow my dream of owning my own business. My best job was raising my 3 wonderful children, but once they left for college, I knew I needed something more. Bella Bridesmaids came at the perfect time. My husband and I purchased Bella in September of 2023 and have continued to grow the business into just more than a bridesmaids store. We sell formal gowns for all occasions. My favorite part is getting to work with amazing women who go from client to friend by the end of the appointment. Nothing makes me happier than seeing women feel confident and beautiful when they find the perfect dress. The smile says it all!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Having the right location for any business is key. I am so excited to be joining the downtown Overland Park community. Bella Bridesmaids is most often a destination store. With our new location, bridal parties can turn their appointment with us into a girls day out. They can enjoy the many shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries and farmers market. Moving locations was a big decision, but we are so happy we did!

Bella Bridesmaids loves a formal event and provides an ultimate shopping experience, with one of the largest selections of dresses in our showroom from the world’s leading designers. Our designers include Teri Jon, Lula Kate, Dessy, Jenny Yoo, Amsale, Christina Wu, Watters, Kay Unger, MacDuggal and Rosebuds. We specialize in gowns for all formal occasions including bridal parties, mother of, little white, black tie, debutantes, prom, graduation, first communion and flower girls. We are here to provide a stress free, enjoyable experience for all of our clients from beginning to end.
What are your plans for the future?
I am currently working with debutantes and graduations and plan to add sororities to the list. I love working with large groups and am going to expand this side of my business locally and to other cities.
