Life & Work with John DePrisco of Kansas City, MO

Today we’d like to introduce you to John DePrisco.

Hi John, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2011, I was a wedding photographer looking for a way to market my business a little differently. The intention was to continue shooting weddings and having a vw bus Photo Booth as an add on to my services. I bought a bus in Nov. 2011 and quickly realized it wasn’t the bus we needed for this project. I might John Warren “my mechanic” and became great friends. I call him Mr. VW as he knows just about everything when it comes to Volkswagen. He founds a bus in Washington State but we couldn’t get it until April of 2012, we gumballed it up and back to Sioux Falls, SD to meet a friend that was delivering our new bus! Her name is “April” our red bus. From there it all started, we got a lot of national press and within two years of our first bus we bought a second bus and restored it, this bus is “Mary Lou”. We still have both buses and they continue to operate here in KC. PreCovid we grew to 22 buses in 12 cities and since we’ve scaled back to 5 cities and 13 buses as of today. We’re currently operating in KC, St. Louis, Nashville, Austin and Dallas-Ft. Worth.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was been tough but we’re still going. I’ve been married with two kids, Divorced, Covid, open heart surgery after covid, to a full recovery and I’m currently in a relationship for the last 3.5 years with my GF Macauley who I love so much! Being self-employed has been a roller coaster but we’re here and are continuing to move forward. Is anything smooth these days.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
