Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Autumn Green of Kansas City, MO

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Autumn Green. Check out our conversation below.

Autumn, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that has been bringing me joy lately is working on my newest novel. It’s still in the early drafting stages, but I feel so excited and happy every time I get the chance to write.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Autumn Green, a writer and educator. I love creating stories that explore human connection and imagination. I am the author of The Keepers of Aris and Elemental Convergence. Storytelling has always been at the heart of who I am, and I’m excited to share pieces of that journey.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was in 4th grade when I wrote my first novel. It was the first time I truly put my ideas on paper, and it opened my eyes to what I was capable of becoming.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Yes, it’s a little random, but I really miss Hawaiian Punch jelly beans. They were my favorite as a kid, and I can still remember eating them while working on the very first draft of my debut novel, The Keepers of Aris. It’s funny how something so small can hold such a big memory, for me, they’ll always be tied to the excitement of discovering my love for writing.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I once read that as a writer, the characters you create have full control of the story; you’re simply the narrator giving life to people who were never born into the real world. I still believe that to this day, even without tangible proof. Time after time, in my writing journey, my characters have surprised me by being the ones to tell me their next move. I can plan as much as I want, but in the end, the character’s voice eventually wins out.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely! As long as it’s something that I love doing, that’s all the fulfillment I need.
