Today we’d like to introduce you to Lola B. Bunny.
Hi Lola b., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Lola B. Bunny aka The Baddest Honey, I am a Kansas City native. I was not born here but I’ve been raised here my entire life as long as I can remember. I have a large family, one son, and many loved ones. When growing up I always had a passion for entertainment, whether it was cheerleading, dancing, or doing talent shows. I’ve always enjoyed being creative and making art. I feel art is a beautiful way for someone to express their emotions whether that is through dancing, drawing, painting, singing, or rapping. I, myself enjoy expressing myself throughout all of these forms of art. When growing up I’ve always enjoyed art and sharing my craft but over time I went from cheering, dancing, to actually writing music and bringing it altogether. Writing music is somewhat like journalizing your feeling but your also able to make fun with it. The music I make these days I hope inspires people to be brave, pursue their dreams, and go after the things that truly makes them happy. When I’m writing music, dancing, or coming up with creative ideas in my head, the true happiness I obtain from all of that is having an intangible thought and bringing it to life making it tangible. I would like for anyone who comes across my journey in life to remember me as someone who pursued the things she truly desired and a person of faith and believing. I went from being shy in school when it came to speak out loud in front of others in class to now performing in front of crowds. Be inspired, be brave, and purse your happiness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When pursing your dreams you will run into obstacles and challenges. The real test starts when things get hard, that is when your faith will be tested. When things get rough that is when you are able to see what you are truly made of. I’ve had my challenges, while being on my journey. I was balancing college, being a mother, and working, all while still putting time aside for myself to pursue my dreams. I have had my ups and downs with dealing with hardships and overcoming them. Days when I have to look myself in the mirror speaking positive affirmations unto myself to bring my mood up. I try my best to see the glass halfway full verses halfway empty and just being grateful for all the blessings the most high has already blessed me with. I know when I open my eyes in the morning, it’s another day for me to try again, another day for me to give it my best, another day to go after the things I truly desire. I just try my best to stay ready, hoping for the best but while being prepared for the worst. I am grateful to even face challenges; some people aren’t blessed with that same opportunity. I’m grateful for it all, it has formed me into the person I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist, rapper, singer, and performer. I thrive in showcasing my music and putting on a show for others to enjoy. I create music that people can resonate with, have fun with, or dance to. I specialize in hip hop and rap. The song I’m most commonly known by is “Wet”. That is a single that I released in 2023, and it is my most played song. What I am most proud of is actually pursuing my craft without caring what others think. Someone will always have an opinion whether it is good bad or etc. We live in a world where people judge people left and right without taking the log out of their own eye before judging. I’m at peace and I’m proud to pursue my dreams without the stress of caring about anyone’s judgement or what anyone else thinks. What set me apart from others is me being able to be myself. I call myself the realist. I walk on my own path that the most high has designated for me by just being authentic and true to myself. I am the blueprint of my own path and like in the bible, I truly feel set apart.
What’s next?
My future plans are to continue making music, finishing up the album I’m working on, doing more shows, and building a legacy. A legacy that can be carried down to my children and future generations. I would like to showcase my art to the world and create good vibes for people to create great memories to. I have many things planned for the year to come but the plan that will determine it all is the most highs. So, you will have to stay tuned to see what is next.
