SHAFAWN Morrison of Olathe on Life, Lessons & Legacy

SHAFAWN Morrison shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi SHAFAWN, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes I recently graduated from nursing school. Something I never imagined i could do.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
So im a multiprenuer. I have several different businesses. Im known for my uniform scrub company Euphoric scrubs formerly known as Our Scrub Boutique. I also have a colon hydrotherapy business. I recently launched my newest company True Dignity living. Its a shared living agency fostering and assisting adults with IDD waivers in the state of Ks interested in community living.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was quiet Shafawn. I lived for impressing others. One day I woke up and I wanted to live for myself and make decisions for myself. I knew I had grown when I didnt care if anyone liked my decisions.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Never. I looked at my child and it made me go harder. I knew then love was stronger then any pain I was experiencing

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes Im me and can only be me. What you see is what you get. Im not sure if its bad or good but Im really an open book

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Not everyone will support your dreams so you have to find your target audience
