Meet Kamesha Moore of The GIG Alliance Corp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamesha Moore.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My professional journey has been a blend of: project and program management, government contracting, and community impact work. I began my career in workforce development, helping individuals on public assistance and vocational rehabilitation programs find sustainable employment. Over time, I transitioned into health and human services work, where I spent nearly a decade at managing large-scale Medicaid and public health contracts.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I managed state and county response contracts, leading teams of over 80 staff in partnership with health departments to deliver contact tracing, quality assurance, and training services. That experience strengthened my expertise in government contracting, compliance, and project management.

In 2022, I co-launched The GIG Alliance Corp, focused on building bridges between state and federal agencies, local nonprofits, and community members. Today, my work combines operational leadership, consulting, grant writing, and nonprofit management to address pressing community needs while creating opportunities for sustainable partnerships.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has never been smooth. Transitioning from direct services into large-scale management required me to quickly adapt to new responsibilities, policies, and the complexity of federal and state contracts. At times, leading diverse teams and meeting strict compliance standards under tight deadlines was a real challenge.

Starting my own business also came with hurdles—securing funding, developing strong procurement processes, and building trust among stakeholders in the community. There were moments where resources were limited, and the demand for services far outweighed the support available.
However, these challenges shave shaped my resilience. They pushed me to innovate, build strong partnerships, and stay grounded in my purpose—helping individuals and communities thrive through equitable access to services.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The GIG Alliance Corp is a partner and a resource for organizations looking to strengthen their impact. It was created to serve as a connector between government, nonprofits, and grassroots communities. We specialize in grant writing, consulting, and operational support for organizations in both the nonprofit, public, and private sectors.

What sets us apart is our dual expertise—we understand the technical requirements of state and federal contracts, and we also know how to engage local nonprofits and community groups in meaningful, culturally relevant ways.

It’s also unique that all of our services are fully customized to the needs of our clients. We recognize that no two organizations are the same—each business or nonprofit has its own goals, challenges, and vision for success. That’s why we don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we work alongside our clients to design strategies, programs, and processes that align with their unique objectives.
Think of The GIG Alliance as a toolbox for your organization’s growth and sustainability. Whether it’s strategic planning, grant writing, procurement, compliance, or community engagement, our role is to provide the tools and guidance to help organizations achieve their specific goals.

I’m especially proud of our grant writing work with Uzazi Village (KCMO); a community nonprofit focused on providing reproductive health services to black and brown families, as well as our program management partnerships with: The HUB KC (KCMO) and Community Connections (Topeka, KS) which are providing resources and support to at-risk youth in our communities.

At the end of the day, our brand is about collaboration and capacity-building. We’re here to empower organizations to not only meet their immediate needs but to thrive long-term by creating systems and partnerships that last.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is equity and access. Too often, vulnerable populations are left behind because systems aren’t designed with their needs in mind. Non-profit organizations are filling those gaps. Many times, these organizations are filling the gaps with little to no funding. I believe every individual deserves dignity, opportunity, and resources to live a healthy life.

The past year, I have focused on locating and obtaining funding for non-profits in the Missouri and Kansas area. My efforts have allowed me to secure over $1.6 million dollars in funding in just the last 9 months.

I also deeply value community partnerships. No single organization can do it all, but by working collaboratively, we can amplify impact and make real change. My career has taught me that lasting solutions come when government, nonprofits, and communities come together.
