Hidden Gems: Meet Jenny Alexander of Kind Body Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Alexander.

Jenny Alexander

Hi Jenny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
II came into the world of lymphatic care after a career as a massage therapist, I was seeing my mom and so many clients that were struggling with swelling, sometimes with no clear explanation. That’s when lymphatic work began to call to me. So I went back to school, again, in 2023, I earned my certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) with Klose Training. (one of the top schools in the U.S.) Even then, I knew this work would challenge me to grow, learn, and serve at a deeper level than ever before.
I continue to advance my education because people deserve the best care possible and science is learning more about this powerful body system every day.
My business is named Kind Body Wellness for a reason: everyone—every body—deserves kindness and knowledgeable, compassionate care.
Right now, the world of lymphatic drainage feels like the wild west. Consumers are often left without proper guidance, sometimes receiving care that is ineffective—or worse, unsafe. My passion lies in providing safe and effective MLD not just for post-operative clients, but also for those managing lymphedema, lipedema, autoimmune disorders, and more.
Equally important is my commitment to public education—helping people understand their bodies and empowering them with tools to support their own healing, and feel better in their bodies.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a business as a solopreneur is hard. 5yrs in and I see that!! All of the hats fall on your head, but when you hear from clients whose lives have been changed by the work you do—it makes it all worth it.

One of the biggest challenges is education around the different types of lymphatic work out there. The rise of so many approaches to lymphatic work, massage vs Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) can be confusing to people. For people affected by lymphatic diseases, there can be are real risks involved in seeing someone who’s only completed a one-day course, or uses incorrect routing or pressure. While massage and lymphatic work is not dangerous for the general public with healthy, uncompromised lymphatic systems, for those with complex or compromised systems, their care must be taken a bit more seriously and gently.
As a one-person practice, educating the public on a larger scale is a big challenge, I love being able to outsource some of that load to great therapists like Leah with @lypmhloveclub on Instagram, or the safe home care sequences shown on the Klose website. Safe, informed care shouldn’t be the exception; it should be the standard.

As you know, we’re big fans of Kind Body Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Kind Body Wellness (kindbodykc.com) was founded on the belief that all bodies deserve kindness. My approach has always leaned toward subtle, gentle, and supportive methods—something that aligns perfectly with my work as a Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapist. The lymphatic system moves softly and requires delicate, respectful care—especially when it’s compromised.

I absolutely love what I do and the people I get to meet and support. Every day, I have the opportunity to grow, to show up as a better version of myself, and to offer care that is both healing and heart-centered.

This gentle, supportive work isn’t just my job—it’s part of who I’m called to be.
I offer post-operative MLD, lymphedema and lipedema management sessions and have a few spots a month open for relaxation massage because our nervous systems all need more rest.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The ability to adjust and learn, to continually remind myself to stay humble and to treat every single person who walks into my door as the most important person of the day.
