We’re looking forward to introducing you to Marcus Louscious. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Marcus, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been cheating on civilization with the great outdoors. Lots of hiking, trail running, getting lost in forests, swimming in rivers, even climbing trees – just to see what the world looks like from a squirrel’s point of view. It’s been good for the soul.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
For the last decade I’ve been chasing stories through the lens—film, television, modeling—anywhere the work takes me. I travel the world with directors, photographers, and fellow dreamers, turning ideas into images that stick in people’s heads. Every project’s a new adventure, and half the fun is not knowing where the next one will be. I have a national ad campaign getting ready to launch as well.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a kid and into adulthood, I thought life followed a straight path—you picked something, stuck with it forever, and that was the only road. Now I know the best parts of life happen when you take detours, change lanes, or even build a brand-new road entirely. I’ve been happily ignoring the GPS ever since.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I learned how to keep laughing through all the pain and failures of my life. Success only taught me to book nice hotels.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I’m convinced we’re all just pixels in some cosmic computer game, but the folks running the show must’ve grabbed a beer and walked away—because nothing’s getting tended to around here
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Nobody handed me a script titled ‘Be an Actor.’ And I’m not from a show biz family—I started at the bottom, figuring it out all by myself, just scribbling in the margins as I went Truth is, I’m just passing through this wild little scene called life, and I don’t have the faintest idea what I was born to do. But hell, I’m enjoying the improvisation.
