We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ms. Julia Wildstar. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Julia, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m still afraid. I may always be.
And it’s difficult to formulate into words. But I feel very called to let go of everything that takes more from me than gives. Everything that makes me feel imbalanced. And live with more integrity. Sometimes I hear a voice telling me if I just let go of the dead weight, I would be able to soar much more freely.
It’s just hard to let go and hard to figure out how and what to let go of. Two things I’m working to let go of is the fear of being seen, and the fear of imperfection.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a multi-passionate artist with a brand centered around music, fashion, and more.
Some other descriptors include improvisational pianist, vocalist, songwriter, producer, fashion enthusiast, and entrepreneur.
I am passionate about fine artistry, growth and evolution, human connection, and finding meaning in the mundane.
These are some of my most treasured values, though the details of how I express them in the world changes from moment to moment.
I am currently in another transitional time; carving away at the sculpture which is my identity. Perhaps in a few years I will be able to describe the self I am today more clearly through hindsight. For now, I suppose the art will have to speak for itself.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother. She’s always known. Somehow.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell her that she should embrace who she is and live in the moment.
That her journey of becoming is just as important as who she wants to become. That she doesn’t need to hide so much. And that how she feels matters.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
It is a very real PART of me. There are some parts I prefer to keep private. And some in between on a spectrum sort of situation.
Sometimes they mix and match and overlap as well.
I consider all of it equally real.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Every single time. I am never quite satisfied. I am trying to learn to take a pause and celebrate when I achieve something, because I have a habit of immediately moving onto the next thing.
