Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Stacia Weddle

We recently had the chance to connect with Stacia Weddle and have shared our conversation below.

Stacia, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Honestly, my animals and our little farm bring me so much joy lately. I’m really enjoying the slower pace of life here, just soaking in where we’re at and spending time with my family and animals.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a photographer based out of both the Kansas City area and Benton County, which gives me the opportunity to serve a wide range of clients and locations. I’ve been passionate about photography for years, starting my journey before my son was born, and it’s been amazing to see how it’s grown into a career I truly love. Right now, I’m working on editing a few beautiful weddings I’ve recently shot and getting more connected with the Benton County community. I’m proud to be able to bring my services to multiple areas, capturing special moments for families and couples in both regions

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a kid, I thought everyone was supposed to have regrets, like they were just a normal part of life. But now I don’t really see things that way. I believe every decision I’ve made, outside of things like peer pressure, was something I wanted in that moment, and it’s all shaped who I am today. Instead of looking back with regret, I try to see those choices as part of my growth and story.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that everything is going to work out exactly the way it should. One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:18: ‘For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.’ I wish I had held onto that truth more as a child… it’s such a comforting reminder that every challenge has a purpose and leads to something greater.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the photography industry is that other photographers are your competition or your enemy. In reality, every photographer has a unique style, approach, and vibe, and there are clients out there who will connect with each of us differently. Sometimes, another photographer might be a better fit for a client’s vision, and that’s okay! Instead of seeing each other as rivals, we should be building each other up and supporting one another. There’s plenty of room for everyone

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I believe you should give your best in everything you do, even if no one else notices or praises you for it. True satisfaction should come from within, not from external validation. We weren’t made to rely on constant praise; sometimes the most meaningful things we do are the ones no one sees. There’s value in simply doing your best because it’s the right thing to do.
