Today we’d like to introduce you to Layne Turley.
Hi Layne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my first business at the end of college in 2020, which was a run-coaching company called Start-Her Running Company. I dipped my toe into entrepreneurship, and knew one day I wanted to own and operate a larger-scaled business, but I wasn’t sure what, or when. This led me to my first corporate job at Garmin, where I got to help launch the influencer marketing program and lead the US ambassador programs. I fell in love with fitness marketing, and had no plans of leaving. Fitness is my favorite hobby, and getting to merge my career and passion has been a dream come true.
Little did I know at the time, but this was just a step on my career journey before I launched my marketing agency – Pacely Marketing. The doors opened, and I had a perfect opportunity to step out and build my agency in December of 2024. Pacely is a content & relationship driven marketing agency – blending strategy & execution for wellness & fitness brands. We specialize in social media marketing, influencer marketing, ambassador programs, and paid social.
I remember crying on the last day of my job, because of how much I loved and appreciated my time, but also stepping into a true dream come true – owning and operating my own business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve learned more in the past year than in many years combined. I’m a 25 year old entrepreneur – and have always prioritized hard work in my personal & professional life – but I had no idea how hard it would be to operate my business, fully satisfy my clients, and lead a team. I have been pushed this past year, and know I am developing into a better version of myself every day because of it.
I struggled early on with growing too quickly, and not having the right operating processes in place to sustain the work coming in. I have since learned, and have been building my team (they are amazing!) to step into my weak spots, and to create a cohesive operating system – both for Pacely and for the work we deliver to clients.
I wouldn’t change anything about this year – the hardest days have taught me the most, and I’m incredibly proud of the work our team has accomplished so far this year!

The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson – I started praying huge prayers over my business after reading this book that God has already been answering. Reading this book was a huge milestone in my faith, and in my business. Two Weeks Notice by Amy Porterfield – This one gave me so much momentum and encouragement in the early days.
The Nick Bare Podcast – Nick has helped my mindset dramatically – through marathon training to building a business, he shares wisdom that motivates me to keep going, even when things are incredibly hard.
Jess Connolly Podcast – A biblical teacher and founder, Jess shares insights on life, ministry, and business! She has been a sound voice for me to learn from for several years.
