We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brooke Bemis. Check out our conversation below.
Brooke, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The moment I wake up, I’m already in work mode. I grab my iced coffee and start checking emails, DMs, and product orders while also planning my next post, reel, or project. I’m very Type A, so I’m constantly tweaking things to make them just right. My brain is always thinking five steps ahead, and I think a lot of business owners—big or small—can relate to that.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Brooke, the owner of Brows by B located in Wichita, Kansas, where I’ve been perfecting brows for nearly a decade. My work is driven by a passion for precision, every brow is shaped with intention and designed to enhance each client’s natural features. I’m known for my attention to detail and results that are consistent and customized to my clients.
Alongside my studio work, I’m passionate about teaching other beauty professionals through The Brow Battalion, my training brand that equips artists with the skills, confidence, and boundaries to succeed. I also recently launched Shop Brows by B, my own line of professional brow tools and products, the same ones I use on my clients every day.
What makes my brand unique is that everything I create, whether it’s a brow service, a training program, or a product, comes from real, hands-on experience in the industry. I’m constantly focused on elevating the standard for brows while keeping the experience personal and approachable. Right now, I’m continuing to grow my product line and expand my training opportunities so I can help more artists thrive in the industry.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I’ve learned that the most impactful relationship I’ve ever had is the one I have with myself. No one else could shape me the way years of self-reflection, growth, and even setbacks have. Building Brows by B, I’ve had to face self-doubt, push through challenges, and learn to fully trust my own instincts. That relationship, choosing to bet on myself over and over again is what’s shaped how I see who I am and who I’m becoming.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Three years ago, I hit a breaking point and took six weeks away from my business. I was completely burnt out—personally, physically, and professionally. I questioned everything: if I was good enough, if I was cut out for this, if the sacrifices were worth it. Running a business—especially building it from the ground up, takes a very specific mindset and an insane amount of resilience. Stepping back gave me perspective. It reminded me why I started, showed me what needed to change, and honestly saved both me and my business. That season taught me that rest doesn’t mean giving up—it means realigning so you can come back stronger.
Three years later, I’ve completely transformed what once felt like a breaking point into my biggest breakthrough. I reopened my business in a new, bigger location, cut back the hours I spend behind the chair, started training other professionals to give myself a fresh change of scenery, and even launched my own professional product line. That season of burnout pushed me to create a version of my career that actually works for me—not the other way around.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to the belief that investing in your craft and doing things the right way will always win in the long run. Quick fixes and shortcuts might look appealing in the moment, but they don’t create lasting results—whether that’s in brows, in business, or in life.
That’s why I’ve poured so much of myself into building my business and creating professional tools and products that I use every single day in my own studio. I wanted to design things that not only work, but actually make a difference, tools that elevate results, simplify the process, and give other professionals the same confidence I feel when I’m working. At the end of the day, it always comes back to my clients: giving them the best experience, the best results, and the confidence that comes with brows that truly transform their look.
My goal has always been to raise the standard in this industry and give other professionals access to the kind of tools, education, and mentorship that help them grow without cutting corners. No matter how long it takes, I’ll always stand behind this belief because it’s the foundation of everything I’ve built: from Brows by B, to training other artists, to launching my own professional product line. Trends will come and go, but quality, integrity, and passion will always stand for years to come.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I know without a doubt I’m doing what I was born to do. When I first started, I was following the path that felt “safe” and checking boxes of what I thought I was supposed to do. But building Brows by B taught me to trust myself and create a career that actually lights me up. This isn’t something anyone could have told me to do, it’s something I had to grow into, through trial, error, burnout, and breakthroughs.
Now, nearly a decade later, I get to wake up every day and pour into my clients, my students, and my industry. I’ve built a business I love, created products I believe in, and designed a life that reflects my values. To me, that’s the difference!
