Hi Jordyn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Shinneman & Co. was established at the end of 2023, fueled by a deep passion for the wedding industry. Fortunate to have a supportive partner who not only believed in me but also encouraged me to chase my dreams and achieve my goals.

From the very beginning, we set out to carve out our niche and thrive. With unwavering determination and a clear vision, we dove in headfirst, ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Our initial goal was to manage 50 events in a season, giving us the chance to explore stunning venues and make a significant impact in the industry while enjoying a fulfilling part-time role. To our amazement, we ended up being part of an incredible 500 events in our first season! This achievement exceeded all of our expectations and solidified our place in the wedding industry

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In any industry, starting out inevitably comes with its share of challenges, but it’s all about how you confront them head-on. Every day has been a valuable learning experience, and we are immensely grateful for the amazing individuals we’ve encountered along the way who have offered incredible insights, support, and encouragement. We thrive in collaboration with others who share our passion and are equally dedicated to mutual success.

We’ve been impressed with Shinneman & Co, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a premier event linen supply company dedicated to serving venues, caterers, and coordinators. Our mission is to partner with the best in Kansas City, delivering exceptional quality at competitive prices. This commitment has solidified our reputation as a staple in the industry, ensuring that every event is memorable and enjoyable.

In our inaugural season, we were honored to be nominated as one of the Best Rentals in Kansas City by multiple esteemed organizations.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My top piece of advice is this: prepare yourself for anything that comes your way. Surround yourself with a trusted core group and don’t hesitate to lean on them for support when needed. And most importantly, take action without delay. Life is short, and you don’t want to live with the lingering question of “what if?” The only thing that could hold you back is yourself. Embrace the challenge and go for it!
