Daily Inspiration: Meet Emily Steele

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Steele.

Hi Emily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a wedding photographer for over 20 years. I got started in photography when I was a little kid and then after graduating made it into a career and now it’s my full time job.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think for artists marketing can be the biggest struggle. Sometimes it’s harder to go from artist mindset to business owner mindset. It’s a lot of hats to wear.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an elopement photographer. Meaning I focus on intimate weddings with smaller groups, traveling to destiinations for smaller weddings, etc.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
The biggest risk I took was about 10 years ago when I decided to work full time as a photographer. It was terrifying but worth it in the end.
