Inspiring Conversations with Danielle Huppe of The Style Approach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Huppe.

Danielle Huppe

Hi Danielle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, Kansas City! My name is Danielle Huppe, and I’m a fashion wardrobe stylist and image consultant who recently relocated here from my hometown of New York.

Above fashion, my first love has always been community and connection, and I use fashion as a tool to build both. I feel like it’s the stories we tell through fashion that connect us and creates conversation and community. When it comes to the beginnings of my actual love of fashion, its as simple as experiencing life as a shy middle child searching for my place in the world. Creativity became my language, and clothing quickly became my outlet. Through fashion, I discovered the power of self-expression and the messages it can send about who we are. It gave me a voice and helped me out of comfort zone. Also you can imagine, I was instantly influenced by my surroundings of New York City’s vibrancy, diversity, grit and ambition along with how people dressed for it. It was only a matter of time when I realized I was going to be that kind of woman that was just obsessed with the fashion of it all.

This pull toward fashion became my path. From my first job in retail to studying the business of fashion and earning my degree, I followed that it through every phase of my career. Over the last two decades, I’ve worked across retail, production, product development, and wholesale. Eventually, I found myself immersed in the world of New York Fashion Week, where I truly felt the spark of purpose. That’s when I became certified in wardrobe styling, image consulting, and fashion event production. I began styling women one-on-one, working on editorial spreads, and participating in fashion week production.

But the most meaningful part of my journey has always been empowering women. While in New York, I founded Style for Purpose, a charitable initiative bringing fashion experiences to women in shelters, helping them feel celebrated. I look forward to continuing that work here in Kansas City.

Now, I am very excited to bring my unique perspective to KC with The Style Approach, a personalized styling service designed to make getting dressed exciting again, move over yoga pants! Whether you need help building your wardrobe, curating outfits for your lifestyle, or simply want to fall in love with your closet again, I’m here to help you rediscover the joy of dressing and the confidence that comes with it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road—especially during Covid, which, like for many, brought major shifts. The pandemic affected the way I connected with clients and how I ran my business. In-person styling paused, and sadly, the Style for Purpose charity events had to stop due to safety regulations and shelter restrictions.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Style Approach is a personal wardrobe styling and image consulting business created to help women and men rediscover how purposeful getting dressed is, while feeling completely confident in their own skin.

What sets me apart is how deeply personal and empowering the experience is. Styling with me isn’t about trends—it’s about translating who you are and how you want to show up in the world with a wardrobe that works for you. Whether you’re a busy parent, a professional navigating transitions, or someone simply craving a closet that reflects the who you’ve become, The Style Approach is for you.

I bring a seasoned, editorial eye but a grounded, heart-led approach. I’ve styled women across every age, shape, and season of life, and I specialize in making style approachable, expressive, and truly you and am now taking male clients.

My offerings include:
    •    Closet Edits that remove the overwhelm and reveal what works.
    •    Color Analysis & Body Shape Guidance to help you shop smarter and feel your best.
    •    Personal Shopping that’s fun, stress-free, and deeply tailored to your lifestyle and goals.
    •    Mini Edits for travel, events, or freshening up your wardrobe without the pressure of a full overhaul.

I’m proud that my brand doesn’t center around fixing you, more so it’s about honoring you.

The Style Approach is not just about looking good, it’s about feeling aligned. It’s about standing in your worth, showing up with clarity, and using fashion as a daily ritual of self-respect and self-celebration.

I’d love for your readers to know: You don’t need a celebrity budget or a fashion background to work with a stylist. You just need the desire to feel more empowered when you get dressed and ready for the day. And that’s exactly where I begin.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
When I was starting out, I wish I had known that the fashion industry doesn’t need another version of someone else, it needed me. Find, your voice, your perspective, your way of connecting with people. Don’t wait until you feel like you have it all figured out. Some of the most impactful steps I took were during seasons when I felt unsure, unqualified, or underestimated.

Also: build relationships. The fashion world (and business in general) runs on connection, not competition. Collaborate, show up with integrity, and lead with service.

And finally, your evolution is part of the magic. I began in retail, studied fashion business, worked in production and wholesale, and later found my purpose in wardrobe styling and empowering women. Every step taught me something that shaped who I am today. Don’t rush the process. Let it build you.

Your story is your superpower. Own it. Share it. And let it guide the way.
