Today we’d like to introduce you to Sade McLean.
Hi Sade, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
PD Powerhouse Visionary Shaneil Cunningham, gathered her God-sister Kammie David to start an All Girl’s Flag Football Team. They understood 2 girl’s could not start the team, therefore, they went and gathered 3 more of their track and field friend’s. They went to their Track & Field Coach, Coach CG, and the rest became history! The business was established on June 19, 2023. Within the last 2 years, last year, we’ve had the great honored and privilege to have the first girl in Virginia History to sign a scholarship to college for Flag Football at Pratt University. This year, we’ve had the first girl to sign a scholarship for Flag Football at Virginia Wesleyan, making her the first girl for that school to do so. To top it all, we are the first organization in the peninsula district of Virginia to start an All Girl’s Flag Team. Powerhouse continues to strive while beating the odds for young girl’s in the community to have bigger and brighter future’s. We are truly grateful until God as he keeps swinging open those Open Doors we did not think could be possible!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“We’ve had some challenges that we cannot count on one hand lol,” stated President of Powerhouse, Sade McLean. We have experienced many losses at Championship Game Day, BUT encountered our first 12u Championship Game Winning’s at our Power Bowl Tournament, taking home the trophy!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the Founder/ Owner of Gifted Hands of Blessings LLC which is a small janitorial/laundry/organizational business, partnered alongside my husband, who is the CEO of the carpet cleaning side of the Business! This December marks 6 years in business!
I also serve on the Youth department at my ministry called Revelation Church, as one of the Youth Leaders. I am also a Long Term Substitute Teacher at a prestige Elementary/ Middle School located in Hampton, Virginia. As you can see, working with the youth, is very familiar for me and I love it here!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I will have to give All Glory to God because he’s the one who gave me the vision and purpose of this janitorial business and the name.
Now back to the main focus at hand here, for POWERHOUSE, I give him All Glory again! He has partnered with the Visionary Shaneil, Co-Visionary Kammie, and Coach CG in giving them the vision for this All Girl’s Flag Football Organization! He has also brought alongside helper’s such as Coach Jay, Coach Rob, Coach Amber and Coach Que, Head Admin Destyne’, and Lead Photographer Zoey, who has shown their endless passion and dedication to this organization! We are excited for those who we are bringing along the journey this season!
