Life & Work with Micah Cole of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Cole.

Hi Micah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a small town in southern Florida, and I have been involved with playing live music for most of my life. When I was a teenager, I was introduced to recording a commercial in a friend’s home studio, and I’ve had a passion for audio engineering ever since.
I enlisted in the Air Force and during that time I volunteered at the Air Force News Network – specifically their radio station – where I learned how to record, mix, and master audio for a radio broadcast I hosted in Aviano, Italy.
After serving, I moved to Kansas City and finished my degree in Film and Media Arts, graduating in May of 2024.
Since 2023, I have also been working as a professional voice actor. I am signed through Exposure Model & Talent Agency and have reoccurring work as the voice of the “Beef, It’s What’s For Dinner” commercial campaign.
This year, I am extremely proud to have created micahcolevo.com, a website and business where I offer professional voice over and audio engineering services.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a small business has been very challenging, but also extremely rewarding as well. Audio engineering is a pretty niche line of work too – I would say the current challenge involves finding aspiring musicians and voice actors who are looking to take their creative projects across the finish line.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a voice actor, model and audio engineer. I have a reputation for producing high quality narrations with a fast turnaround. I specialize in vocal production – whether it’s commercial or creative, I love making people sound their best! On my website, you can see examples of both my work and other voice actors. I think my experience as a veteran sets me apart from others in this field. I approach my business with the same organization and passion I had in the military.

How do you think about luck?
I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I’ve had in my modeling and voice over work. That being said, I believe that if you show up on time and with a smile, opportunities will appear. The luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me has to be meeting my partner, Victoria, and stepping into the role of primary caregiver to our two amazing kids. I wouldn’t be able to do anything without her love and support.
