Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelani Meirowsky.
Hi Noelani, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been a Francophile for as long as I can remember and have always had a passion for Paris. I am incredibly inspired by French women and how they dress so chic and stylish with simple pieces. Two and a half years ago, I started writing a blog called La Vie On Grand in my spare time. I wanted to share my love of French fashion and Paris with people. I was doing the blog on the side at night and had a full-time job in pharmaceuticals during the day. Then one day, I was let go from my sales job of 16 years due to downsizing. I had no idea what I was going to do with myself and after much discussion, my husband and I decided I should try and take my blog full time. That’s how it all started. Getting let go from job was the best thing to ever happen! As the saying goes, when one door closes another opens!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been challenging. There is no employee handbook to guide you on how to be a full-time creator online. Most days, I sit alone at my computer, writing, with nobody to talk to. I’ve had to learn how to handle business taxes, how to market myself, how to delve into analytics (something I dislike intensely), and how to stay positive in a world that can sometimes be unkind to creators.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the creator of the brand La Vie On Grand, a digital destination that shares how to live your best French lifestyle anywhere. I share tips on traveling to Paris, how attainable it is to dress like a French woman, and I host retreats in Paris for like-minded women.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I like to listen to Mel Robbins, Simple Sophisticate, and the Life Of A Bon Vivant Podcasts. What really drives me is self-discipline and being in Paris.
