Today we’d like to introduce you to Ieisha Justice.
Hi Ieisha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Ieisha, and I’m the founder of WeirdoNailz LLC. What started as a personal passion turned into a mission: helping people feel confident and stylish—without spending hours at the nail salon.
At WeirdoNailz, we offer Ready to Apply Press-On Nails that combine the look and feel of salon-quality nails with the convenience of at-home application. Our nails are not only long-lasting and reusable, but they’re also made to be durable and trendy, keeping up with today’s fashion-forward styles.
Whether you’re constantly on the go or just love switching up your look, WeirdoNailz has something for you. Stick with us this week as we share more about our journey, products, and what makes our business so unique.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road—but that’s what has made the journey meaningful. There have been many challenges, especially in the beginning. Starting WeirdoNailz LLC meant building everything from the ground up, often with limited resources. One of the biggest hurdles was navigating the sudden shift during the pandemic. I was enrolled as a nail student in January 2020, and everything came to a halt shortly after. Classes moved online, and I had to adapt quickly—learning how to perfect my craft late at night while also exploring how to build a contactless nail business from home.
Financially, I had to be resourceful. There were moments where I was juggling multiple jobs just to reinvest in my business and buy supplies. Marketing without a budget, facing slow retail days, and trying to be seen in a saturated market tested my patience and creativity. I also faced personal challenges, including health setbacks that made it hard to stay consistent.
But through every obstacle, I found new solutions—like hosting pop-ups, collaborating with local schools, and creating press-on nails that truly reflected individual personalities. Every struggle added a layer of strength, direction, and clarity that continues to push WeirdoNailz forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At WeirdoNailz LLC, I specialize in creating custom handmade press-on nails and curating exclusive nail art supplies for both individuals and professionals. I’m known for designing nails that not only look salon-quality but are also durable, reusable, and uniquely tailored to each client. Whether it’s for a child’s first set, a bride’s big day, or a themed pop-up, every set is made with attention to detail and personal expression.
What truly sets WeirdoNailz apart is the fusion of creativity, community, and education. This isn’t just about nails—it’s about confidence, convenience, and culture. I offer workshops through schools, host “Paint & Press” events, and now train high school interns on entrepreneurship, design, and hands-on artistry. I also provide wholesale opportunities for nail techs, salons, and gift shops looking for something fresh and customizable across the country.
I’m most proud of the impact WeirdoNailz has made—from being featured on local news segments to receiving awards for small business leadership, to simply hearing how a client feels beautiful and seen when they wear my nails. The journey from doing nails at home during the pandemic to running a retail space and teaching others has been nothing short of transformative.
Ultimately, WeirdoNailz is not just a Nail Company—it’s a movement for future nail artists, trendsetters, and everyday people who want to express themselves boldly and beautifully, one nail at a time.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about our city is the strong sense of community and the growing support for small businesses and creatives. There’s a real energy here, especially when it comes to innovation and entrepreneurship. From local markets to community-led events, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with people who genuinely want to see others succeed. The culture, the food, the art—it all fuels creativity and makes building a brand like WeirdoNailz feel possible.
As for what I like least—I choose not to focus on the negative. I’m thankful to have grown as an entrepreneur to this level in just five years. Before I started my career, I often felt like I was in the wrong space, trying to find a way out. But I’ve learned that feeling can happen anywhere—not just in Kansas City. Sometimes you have to push yourself to step outside of your comfort zone. There are creatives and opportunities all around—you just have to get outside, explore, and try to move around.
